    SUBJECT: Software Upgrade for G500/G600: GDU 620 v7.00, GAD 43e v2.30, and GRS 77 v3.04

    PURPOSE
    This Software Service Bulletin announces the availability of GDU 620 Software Version 7.00, GAD 43e

    Software Version 2.30, and GRS 77 Software Version 3.04 for G500/G600 systems (GRS software version 3.04
    was previously available for G500 systems only).

    Software Updates:

    • GDU 620 Software Version 7.00 contains many changes from version 6.21, with the following highlights:
    1. Added support for new terrain and obstacle databases (a new supplemental database card is
    required as part of this update).
    2. Updated the design of moving maps on the MFD.
    3. Added support for GDL 88 ADS-B traffic and weather display.
    4. Added support for enhanced traffic display from GTS traffic systems.
    5. Added support for GWX 70 advanced features (i.e. Turbulence Detection and Altitude
    Compensated Tilt).
    6. Added support for GWX 68/70 radar on multiple displays.
    7. Added support for WX-500 Stormscope® display.
    8. New power line alerting with TAWS-B (G600) and Synthetic Vision (G500 and G600).
    9. Database Sync will update G500/G600 databases from a connected GTN 6XX/7XX (GTN v5.13
    or later required).
    10. Added support for geo-referenced FliteCharts and now display ownship position.
    11. Added support for SiriusXM icing, turbulence, PIREP, and AIREP weather products.
    12. Added support for SiriusXM Canadian radar, METAR, TAF, and winds aloft.
    13. GTN 6XX/7XX TAWS alerting (if enabled) will drive the G500/G600 system to eliminate TAWS
    alert timing differences (GTN v5.10 or later required). Other external TAWS sources may impact
    particular SVT functions.
    14. Other new PFD features include: Timer/Clock field, LP+V approach annunciation, and pilot
    selectable OAT type.
    15. Other new MFD features include: Smart Airspace, airspace altitude labels, range to altitude arc,
    and full screen display of external video.
    • GAD 43e Software Version 2.30 contains the following changes from version 2.20:
    1. Added support for Cessna AA-801 altitude preselect interface.
    2. Updated the KAS 297 altitude preselect interface to improve performance.
    • GRS 77 Software Version 3.04 contains the following changes from version 3.03:
    1. Resolves initialization issue when aircraft is moved on the ground (e.g. towing operations) during
    the first 10 seconds after turning on power to AHRS.
    2. Resolves initialization issue when magnetic interference is present near the magnetometer during
    the first 60 seconds after turning on power to AHRS.
    Service Advisory 1309, Verify Displayed Heading is not Noticeably Drifting Prior to Takeoff, is addressed by GRS
    77 software version 3.04.

    Service Advisory 1421, G600 Outside Air Temperature (OAT) Display, is addressed by GDU 620 software version
    7.00.

    Service Advisory 1510, GDU 620 Software V6.21 Exhibiting Unexpected Display or Performance Issues, is
    addressed by GDU 620 software version 7.00.
