Minutes of Meeting:
o The departmental meeting started at exactly 2:40 PM with a short prayer led by Mr. Joemark B. Vasquez. o Subject group head Mrs. Melany Arcangel facilitated the meeting and discussed the schedule of deliberation of honors of grade 11 students. She mentioned that all sections of grade 11 will have simultaneous deliberation of honors on July 5, 2023. o The main agenda was about the implementation of National Learning Camp (NLC) from July 24-August 25, 2023. 1. SGH Arcangel enumerated the following categories of activities to be offered at NLC: Enhancement – for students who wants to learn more about the subjects they are interested in. Consolidation- designed to provide further practice and application of grade-level learning area competencies Intervention – for students who are having trouble understanding the concepts being taught in class. Remediation – for students who have failed subjects 2. The SGH relayed that there is a challenge in encouraging students to attend intervention and remediation. Nevertheless, she asked Mr. Joshua Abel De Guzman, the HUMSS LOA Coordinator, to identify the subject for intervention, and remediation. Mr. De Guzman replied that 3E’s has the least learned skill. In connection to this, Ms. Jen Co added that her students are keener in attending the enhancement activities than intervention. After considering the previous statements of his colleagues, Mr. Garcia suggested that since the 3E’s has the least learned skill it is better that the subject for enhancement is Practical Research 1 (PR 1) and with such, conveyed his interest to volunteer to teach PR1 to enhance the students’ skill for the sake of the subject 3E’s. Mrs. Arcangel appreciated the comments of teachers and agreed to the suggestion of Mrs. Racquel Comandante to discuss possible collaboration with the Research Department about the support of teachers of HUMSS in teaching PR1 as preparation for 3E’s subject. Also, the quorum was unanimous that Trends subject will be the second subject to be taught on the National Learning Camp. 3. Agreement: oThe schedule of teachers in NLC will be distributed to all teachers and should be in batches. oMs. Butch Lousiana De Los Reyes will consolidate the identified students who will attend National Learning Camp. o HUMSS department shall support the National Learning Camp activities. 4. After the agenda was discussed with satisfaction, the meeting adjourned at exactly 3:25 PM.
