One way to give us students an opportunity to apply the things we learn in class and
experience actual work on the job is through work immersion. Also, it aids in building
our assets of knowledge and abilities that are relevant to the workplace. Additionally,
especially in the medical industry, it offers opportunities to practice with real tools,
equipment, and data while using real work ethics for a particular job.
Due to my inexperience, I feel anxious and prone to making mistakes on my first day
of immersion. I also experience fear, especially when speaking with our supervisor. I
recognized then that, in whatever situation I am in, I need to demonstrate my firmness,
adaptability, and versatility.
Our supervisor initially briefs us on the policies and procedures as well as the task
that she gives us to complete our eighty (80) hours or ten (10) days of work immersion.
Also, she showed us around her lab at Sarmiento and C&G X-ray. She continues by
explaining what to wear and do when we are in the respected area.
I learned a lot from our supervisor and from the other members of the organization.
During the ten (10) days of work immersion, they taught us to be responsible at work,
have initiative, practice proper cleanliness and safety, and most importantly, show some
respect and care to everyone, especially the patients.
A good work immersion helps us get ready for our future careers. Even minor details
learned during our immersion at GS Medical Laboratory Services can be applied to us in
the medical field. We are trained not only academically but socially as well.
Lastly, that day is not be that tough; it gives me fresh ideas and the opportunity to
clear up my mind freely and without fear in order to improve. It's also helped me pursue
my dream to become a doctor someday because it will always remind me that every little
step is a big achievement toward your dream.

I was fortunate enough to experience and learn about many different aspects of what
goes into a project during my work experience at GS Medical Services, including the
general process of how a project is initially processed, developed, and completed, as well
as how much work and detail goes into every stage. The variety of work that must be
done in the medical field is another important lesson I have learned during these ten days
of work immersion. This has given me a better understanding of the various types of roles
and responsibilities that I could carry out as a Medical Technologist, a Rad Tech, and a
Nurse.
Overall, my work experience at GS Medical Services was positive. I was very happy
with the amount of things that I have learned and experienced in the 10 days of being an
immersion student with the company.
