I. LEARNING JOURNEY
Day 1
Motivation: The student will sing and dance with the song My God is so Great.
Big Book Time
The teacher will show a big book, "My Jumbo Book of the Bible," and ask the pupils what
stories we can read in this book. “Stories of Jesus”

Do you know who Jesus is?

What is your knowledge about Jesus?
Let us watch this story from the “Big Book” that tells the story of who Jesus is.
Do you really know who Jesus is?
II. LISTENING TO THE LORD
The pupils will watch the video about the Matthew 16:13-20

Matthew 16:13-20
Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and he asked his disciples, "Who do
people say that the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still
others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon
Peter said in reply, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my
heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the
kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you
loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that
he was the Christ.

Who do you say that Jesus is?

III. LOOKING AT MY EXPERIENCE

Imagine Jesus is looking into your eye right now and ask you the same question H. “Who do you
say I am? Not “what” do you say I am? “Who” do you say I am?

Answer the question in 2-3 sentences on your N2 and be ready to share your answer to the class.

IV. LEARNING FROM THE CHURCH

In the Gospel, Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do you say I am?" This question is important
because it helps us understand who Jesus truly is.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church doesn't have a specific paragraph that directly answers
this question, but it does talk about Jesus and his identity in many places.

According to the Catholic Church, Jesus is not just a regular person, but the Son of God. He is
the second person of the Holy Trinity, which means he is God himself. Jesus came to Earth to
show us how much God loves us and to save us from sin. He taught us about God's love,
performed miracles, and ultimately sacrificed himself on the cross to bring us back to God.

So, when Jesus asks, "Who do you say I am?" he is asking his disciples and all of us to recognize
him as the Son of God, our Savior, and the one who loves us so much. It's like asking, "Do you
believe that I am God's special Son who came to save you?"

V. LIVING OUT OUR FAITH

Let us entrust ourselves to Jesus especially during our trying and difficult moments. We
make Jesus rule our life. He will make way for us to face the challenges of life.
How does one ask Jesus for help? Prayer is the way. What do you pray to Jesus when you are
in difficulty? Write your prayer in your notebook 2.

DAY 2
I. LEARNING JOURNEY:
Review about the previous lesson. How do we know more about Jesus?
A. Motivation: The pupils will be grouped into 5. Each group will be given one picture
puzzle to form/ solve.

1. What have you formed?

2. Tell something about the picture?
3. Do you use/ do that?

II. LOOKING AT MY EXPERIENCE
Gadgets and social media are used to communicate and to be closer to our friends, our
families, and relatives. These are used to express our feelings and ideas we want to
communicate especially to people we want to know more.

But how do we become closer to Jesus? What can we do to know more about Him?

Through Prayer.

III.LEARNING FROM THE CHURCH

All of us have the desire to be closer to Jesus to know more about Him and this can be
possible if we open ourselves to Him through prayer.
But when is the time to pray?

To pray is to communicate with God, and to be connected to Jesus. Prayer also makes us
open to our family and community.

Day 3
I. LEARNING JOURNEY:
1. Motivation: Singing of I will Pray song.
II. LOOKING AT MY EXPERIENCE
All of us connect with God through prayer. We also believe that prayer is powerful. That is
why we start our day with a prayer and ends the day with a prayer.

Today is another day. Write your prayer on your N2.

There are many reasons why we pray. One of them is to praise God. We praise God because
he is the most Holy and the most powerful. We also pray to thank God. We thank Him for
the many blessings He gives us every day and sometimes we pray to ask favors.

III.LEARNING FROM THE CHURCH

Prayers can be spoken or sung. It can also be silent. It can be used to praise God or to ask for
something including help and forgiveness. Prayers can be said over and over again as in a
Rosary or just once.
God listens to our prayers. If we truly pray to God, we will often feel His presence. No matter
what we do, we will have His guidance.

Here are some basic prayers Catholics like us should start praying:
The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on
earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we
forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the
fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of
our death. Amen.

Glory Be
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now, and will
be forever. Amen.

IV. LIVING OUT OUR FAITH

Do activity # 2 in your handouts: Circle the words that will complete The Lord’s Prayer.

V. CELEBRATING WHAT I’VE LEARNED

We worship God throughout the day. We worship Him in different ways. Many of us give
praise to God. Some do it in quiet adoration or by sitting quietly. Some meditate on the word
of God and some sing to the Lord.

Let us all together sing the song I will sing forever.

Synthesis: What Now?

Day 4
LEARNING JOURNEY:
I. LOOKING AT MY EXPERIENCE
What are the things that you are thankful for? List down all your answers in your N2. Why
are you thankful for these things?

II. LEARNING FROM THE CHURCH

Jesus taught us and the disciples how to pray. Prayer keeps us closer to God. It
is our personal loving relationship with God who became our father through
Jesus Christ our brother in the Holy Spirit. (CFC 1475)
