The table under each heading will extend as you fill it with information.
A: ROUTINE INFORMATION
B: SPECIFIC AIMS
Communicate ideas and information.
Make informed decisions and take appropriate action.
Understand and work with a range of sources- including maps, data, and photographs.
Think independently and support their ideas with sound knowledge.
Understand the interaction between society and the natural environment.
C: LESSON OBJECTIVES
1. KNOWLEDGE
Learners can learn about concept such as infant mortality rate and life expectancy and
other population concept that are important in studying population growth and change.
Learners can gain knowledge about how populations change over time.
2. SKILLS
Learners will be able to read and use sources in order to assimilate information.
Learners will gain knowledge and appreciate diverse lifestyle and world views.
Learners will be able to ask questions and identify issues.
3. VALUES/ATTITUDES
Learners can foster a sense of global interconnectedness and recognition of impact of
human activities on the environment.
Learners can develop empathy for individuals and societies affected by infant mortality
rate and life expectancy.
Learners can enhance their critical thinking and problem- solving skills which can be
applied to a wide range of issues beyond population studies.

F: LESSON PHASES:
1. INTRODUCTION
The teacher will first give the students handouts with notes regarding the topic I will be
delivering, asking them to share these notes among themselves so they may read them
before the lesson begins. I'll allow each student 10 minutes to familiarize themselves
with the lesson's content, so they'll be prepared for it when it comes time to take it.
2. DEVELOPMENT
Step 1
Before we begin the day's session, I'll offer learners an opportunity to speak about what
they thought served as evidence that they read the notes with understanding and
interest and to describe what they understood from them.
Step 2
After learners share what they understood will then ask leaners questions before I start
to explain the notes.
Step 3
The teacher will then start the lesson by explaining then concept to the learners.
Introduction
Infant mortality rate tells us how many babies die per year.
The table below gives the infant mortality rate for six countries.
Life expectancy
life expectancy is the average age a person can expect to live.
In the 15th century, the average life expectancy in Europe was about 37 years.
In those days, many people died of diseases.
Water supplies were dirty, sanitation was poor, and people did not eat healthily.
There were very few effective medicines for sick people.
Today, people in the richer countries, such as USA and countries in Europe, can expect
to live over 70 years.
life expectancy in many poor countries remains low.
Diseases such as HIV, and AIDS, Cancer, TB, Covid 19 etc. are lowering life expectancy
in many countries today.
Step 4
After explaining the notes of the lesson will ask learners to explain what they
understand by the word diarrhoea and malnutrition when they are done, I will then give
them the correct explanation.
Diarrhoea
is a condition where a person experiences frequent, loose and water bowel movements.
It can be caused by various factors such as infection, food allergies, certain medication.
Malnutrition
refers to a condition where the body do not receive adequate nutrients of function
properly.
It can occur due to insufficient intake of nutrients.
3. CONSOLIDATION/LESSON CONCLUSION
In this stage learners will be given the opportunity to ask question about what was just
explain to them where they did not understand about the content and ask where they
need clarity.
G: LEARNER ACTIVITY
Describe the learner activity you plan to use. If you are using a worksheet, attach it
to the Lesson Plan)
The activity that the teacher will give learners will consider the questions that need answers
that they will answer writing in their books. The activity is as follows:
Activity
Total = 09
Answers
1. Mozambique
2. Japan
3. South Africa
4. Learners will choose two from the following:
Japan, France, or Brazil
5. Learners will choose two answers form the following:
HIV and AIDS, Cancer, TB, or Covid 19
2. What challenges did you experience during the presentation of your lesson?
It was tough and difficult to keep learners’ attention and active involvement during a
class.
Controlling student conduct and dealing with disruptions was extremely difficult.
4. Did you experience any interesting incidents during the presentation of your
lesson?
Learners were actively participating in the lesson by asking insightful questions,
offering relevant example which was very interesting to experience.
It was an interesting experience when learners make connection between the lesson
content and real- world examples that I hadn’t considered that ensured that the learners
are understanding and enjoying the content.
