Ms. Carrie Ling from the Quantity Surveying department spoke on what is thinking outside the box, why and
how to do that. She stressed on the importance of thinking outside the box in our quest to deliver value to
customers and the need to practise a culture of turning ideas into value
through innovations. Ideas come from a series of creative thinking processes
and will not turn into innovations unless expressed and implemented. She
projected some photos and conducted fun activities to illustrate her points
before giving some recommendations.
To consolidate her points, she instructed all those present to share their ideas
by producing a list of what makes a high quality house from the homebuyer’s
point of view rather than from the property developer’s point of view.
Head of Human Resource Mr. Michael also reminded all Head of Departments
or Senior Managers present to align with the company’s strategy, vision, mission and values. He said “It is
important to communicate and champion the importance of effective succession planning. We must encourage
and support knowledge transfer from current employees to successors to make this work.”

24 May 2014 – Not everyone has an easy start. Some babies are born with a hole in their hearts. It’s time to
spread awareness and support for children impacted by a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). One in every 100
Malaysians was born with CHD. Held in collaboration with the Shah Alam City Council, the Kayuhan Amal
Titipan Kasih Harian Metro charity fun ride was organised to raise funds for young heart patients. More than
350 cyclists turned up as early as 6.30am at Dataran Kemerdekaan in Shah Alam for the 20km charity ride
initiated by Harian Metro.
As MKH cares for the society, we donated RM10,000 cash to help the three children to undergo urgent heart
surgery. This would help to ease the poor parents of the children to raise such amount of money to save their
unhealthy child. Mohamad Azril Azman, 8, from Johor Bahru, Ruthramayilan Balamurugan, 2, from Pahang and
Theng Xiao Wei, 1, from Sabah, are scheduled to undergo heart surgery at the National Heart Institute (IJN)

attend to receive the cheques from the organiser. The event also included a charity car boot sale, lucky draw,
colouring contest and health check-up.
Through this collaboration, MKH together with other sponsors including IJN, Harian Metro, KFC and BHP made
a life-saving difference for a child! Everyone of us should take part in something truly remarkable. Let’s take
the opportunity to help raise funds to provide a new hope and new life for a child!

Hari Raya Aidil Fitri is a joyous festival that lasts throughout the Islamic month of Syawal.
For Muslims, it is a time for thanksgiving and celebration after a month of fasting and abstinence.
Syawal is also a time to seek forgiveness from family members and friends as a way
to resolve past animosity and to move on with renewed and strengthen bonds.
The first day of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri begins with a special morning prayers in mosques and a visit to the
cemetery. Similar to Chinese New Year, Muslims families also travel from near and far
throughout Syawal for reunions with their loved ones.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a wonderful occasion, where Muslims dress in their finest traditional attires and
accessories, and treat guests with delicious delicacies. As in most celebrations, children have
the greatest time indulging in goodies, playing fireworks and receiving Duit Raya.
MKH wishes all Muslim staff, Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
