1. PURPOSE

This procedure ensures to control the significant aspect of Hazardous / E-waste /Battery Wastes as given
below to prevent impact to the environment.

 Used Grease  Spent oil 0


 Contaminated Cotton Waste  Paint Sludge / wastes
 Empty Grease Drum  Generation of Battery Waste
 Oil Filter  Lamps (Broken & Failed )

2. SCOPE

This is applicable during Roll Assembly, Guide Assembly and all maintenance work in Rolling Mill. This
activity will be done by only Trained Employee.

3. DEFINITIONS

Common Industry, environmental terms is used.

• Keep trays nearer to the area before performing maintenance or routine activities
• Training / awareness program has to be conducted at regular periodic intervals for segregation
of the waste
• Segregate the used oil, grease, grease/oil soaked cotton waste, filters, bearings, battery waste,
broken lamps, paint drums, oil drums and put into the trays provided separately.
• Once the collected used oil, grease, grease/oil soaked cotton waste, filters, bearings, battery
waste, broken lamps, paint drums, oil drums container is full, respective team will send the
waste to Intermediate Bin which is available outside Rolling Mill Area according to waste.
• Weigh the wastes in Central Store.
• Then organize to send the wastes to central storage yard.
• From Central Storage yard EHS department will organize to dispose the wastes.
