Dylan here!
I have created these mock tests for y’all as I found out that I had lack of practice questions
when I was in Secondary School.
The difference in the standards between the homework and test questions are way too different.
When my students sit through a Mock Exam prior to their tests, they get use to the time
pressure, and they get exposed to the level of the exam questions.
I have a strong desire to help as many students as possible in this community and I want you
guys to perform to your best ability.
I have purposefully selected questions that cover different scopes in the chapters.
Yes! If you can do these questions, you can certainly do well in your WA3!
Jiayou!
Love,
Dylan
1 In the diagram, ABCD is a parallelogram. Given that M is the midpoint of BC and the
lines AB and DM are produced to meet at N.
(a) Show that triangles BNM and CDM are congruent. [3]
(b) Given that the area of ∆𝐶𝐷𝑀 is 5 cm2, find the area of the entire figure. [2]
(a) Show that triangle OPT and triangle ORT are congruent. Give a reason for each
statement you make. [3]
(b) Point Y lies on the circumference of the circle so that triangle PYT is congruent to
triangle RYT. On the diagram, mark clearly with a “x” and label Y, a possible
position for the point Y. [1]
3 Two minutes statues are geometrically similar and are made from the same material.
Their curved surface areas are 24 cm2 and 54 cm2 respectively.
(a) If the radius of the smaller statue is 3.2 cm, find the radius of the large statue. [2]
(b) If the mass of the larger statue is 128 g, find the mass of the smaller statue. [2]
Trigonometry
2 In the diagram, A is a point at sea level at the foot of a vertical cliff. Two buoys, B and
C, are on the surface of the sea. 𝐴𝐵 = 618 m and 𝐴𝐶 = 746 m. The bearing of B from
A is 050° and the bearing of C from A is 120°.
(a) Show that the length of BC=789 m, correct to 3 significant figures. [3]
(b) Calculate
(i) angle ACB, [2]
(ii) the bearing of C from B, [2]
(iii)area of triangle ABC. [1]
(c) D is the point at the top of the cliff vertically above A.
The angle of elevation of D from C is 12°.
(i) Calculate AD. [2]
(ii) the greatest angle of elevation of D from a point on BC. [3]
1 The figure shows a big poster design consisting of three quadrants with centre O. Given
that 𝑂𝐴 = 𝐴𝐵, 𝑂𝐵 = 𝐵𝐶 and 𝑂𝐴 = 4 𝑐𝑚.
2 In the diagram, O is the centre of a circle with radius 5.8 cm and ∠𝐴𝑂𝐵 = 76°.
𝜋
3 The following diagram shows a sector ACD with radius 10 cm and ∠𝐷𝐴𝐶 = radian.
3
B is a point on AC such that DB is perpendicular to AC.
𝜋
(a) Convert 3 radian to degrees. [1]
(b) Calculate the area of sector ACD. [2]
(c) Calculate the length AB. [2]
(d) Find the perimeter of the shaded region BCD. [5]
