BARKAT MARKET (a paradigm of socio-economic complex space)

Visiting Barkat Market, Lahore as a group of students and with family members
and all alone as a girl have been three different experiences, but into all these
three experiences one problem remains the same and that is finding a
convenient and safe parking spot in Barkat Market and that usually leads to
frustration for visitors there. Bikers and sometimes people with cars can be
seen stopping up at anywhere into the centre of the road that leads to a larger
traffic problem and hours of stuck traffic. This market is popular shopping and
dining destination so it can get a quite crowded especially on weekends and
during some special events, and due to less planned seating spaces or less
green spaces and more crowd, people can be seen dining into the central park
and that lead to another issue of cleanliness and waste management. The
insufficient provisions for people with disabilities and the unavailability of the
adequate restrooms and absence of the ramps for the visitors is another
problem.
