Shampoo Bar
Benefits of Shampoo Bar :-
- Aside from being travel-friendly and seemingly longer-lasting than liquid shampoo,
bars are touted as being able to get your hair back to its original, shiny, voluminous
state by clearing away residue left from the chemicals found in traditional hair
cleansers.
- Plus, since shampoo bars do not strip hair in the same way as detergent-based
shampoos can, you will notice a difference in the way your wet hair feels after
washing.
- Shampoo bars don’t include some of the icky additives used in commercial
shampoos, such as sodium lauryl sulfate and ammonium lauryl sulfate. “Many
educated consumers have become wary of the detergents found in commercial
shampoos, finding them unnecessarily stripping of the natural moisture of the hair
and scalp”
- Gentle, low-lather bar cleansers leave hair clean without feeling dry the way many
detergent-based shampoos can.

Ingredients of Shampoo Bar Base Making :

1) SCI ( Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate ) :
- It is used as a surfactant - cleansing agent in cosmetic products. Surfactant -
cleansing agents are used for skin and hair-cleaning purposes and as
emulsifiers in cosmetics.

2) CAPB ( Cocamidopropyl betaine ) :

- Cocamidopropyl betaine is a mixture of closely related organic compounds
derived from coconut oil and dimethylaminopropylamine. CAPB is available as
a viscous pale yellow solution and it is used as a surfactant in personal care
products.

3) Stearic Acid :
- It is used to harden & thicken products like a bar of soap.
- The presence of stearic acid in shampoo bars helps to create a lather when
mixed with water.

4) Cetyl Alcohol :
- It is used as an opacifier in liquid shampoo but in shampoo bar it is used as
an emulsifier.
5) Kokum Butter :
- Used to thicken or harden shampoo bars.
- It helps to restore moisture in the scalp.

6) BTMS 50 (Behentrimonium Methosulfate) :

- It is a vegetable based conditioning emulsifier.
- Despite its name, Behentrimonium Methosulfate is non-sulfate, derived from
rapeseed oil. Prized for its effective detangling abilities, it’s able to penetrate
the hair shaft making it an excellent moisturizer and conditioner, while
remaining gentle on the hair and skin, without coating the scalp or causing
buildup. It also has hair thickening properties

lather because it is not soap, but you will feel it working if used correctly!
