Generator Set Battery Report
Generator Set Battery Report
Background
This report contains the summary of findings and recommendations for the generator set.
Quarterly service maintenance was conducted on May 31, 2023 at Eastwood Parkview Tower 1.
The quarterly service maintenance was conducted by 4D Industrial Enterprises. 4 pcs. of
batteries (200AH 12vdc Lead Acid Battery) were installed last June 26, 2021
Findings
Generator batteries need replacement every 2-3 years because they have a limited
lifespan, usually around 200-300 charge-discharge cycles. The batteries in
generators are frequently used and go through many cycles, which can degrade
their performance over time. Extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, can also
impact the battery's lifespan. Proper maintenance, such as keeping the battery
charged and ensuring good connections, is important for prolonging its life.
Regular inspection and testing can help determine when a replacement is needed
to ensure reliable backup power.
The current battery unreliability poses a risk to the backup power supply during
emergencies. To ensure uninterrupted operation of the generator, it is strongly
advised to replace the battery as recommended.
Recommendations
One finding was identified during the quarterly service maintenance conducted by 4D
Industrial Enterprise at Eastwood Parkview Tower 1:
1. The batteries (200AH 12vdc Lead Acid Battery) in the generator set has reached its
limit and requires replacement.
