1 My dream job is to write books for children. This is because I’m creative, I love books, I love
younger children, and I think writing a book is like taking someone on an exciting journey.

2 I have two brothers and I love telling them stories. The stories are usually about my brothers –
Oli (five) and Leo (eight) – and animals. I love animals. Usually there’s an animal in danger, Oli
and Leo come to the rescue, and it all ends happily. My brothers really enjoy my stories.

3 I also love drawing, so I’ll illustrate my books myself when I become an author. I sometimes
make little books, and I write the stories and draw the pictures. Sometimes Oli and Leo help me
with the pictures.

4 I want to attend a creative writing course this summer. My cousin did a really good one last year
and she really enjoyed it. I learn about writing at school, but I think the course will also help to
improve my writing. I want to publish my first book before I’m 18!

5 I also want to organize a Book Dash event. Book Dash put together teams of volunteers, and
each team makes a children’s book in one day! The books are free to download from their
website. Anybody can organize a Book Dash event, so I want to organize one, with adults and
teenagers in each team. It will be a great way to get experience.

6 I think it’s important to have a dream job, but it’s also important to have a plan B, because
sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to. My plan B is to become an engineer!
