The document discusses the methodology used in a research study to determine the effectiveness of lip balm as a potential remedy for dry skin. It describes the experimental research design used to compare the test lip balm to other market products by manipulating the independent variable of amount applied and measuring the effect on the dependent variable of skin condition. Materials used in the experiment are also outlined, including various waxes, vitamins, oils, mica powder, honey bees, and honey.

Chapter 3
METHODOLOGY
As a means to determine the effectuality of the
lip balm as a potential remedy from the effects
of dryness in our skin, the researchers
conducted an experiment and observation.
And this chapter discusses the research
design, materials, procedure and data analysis
method used in this research.

Research Design

For the purpose of percieving the efficacy of

lipb balm/ moisturizer compared to the other
available market product, the researchers
used the experimental method. Experimental
method involves manipulating one or more
variables, and controls and measures any
change in the variables. Through experimental
procedure, the researchers will be capable to distinguish how the independent
variable or the amount of the lipbalm/moisturizer used will affect the dependent
variable which is the result in the human skin that will yield certain results
which will be used as an information to be analyzed.

A. Material Used

The about to be mentioned are the materials the researchers used in this
experimental method:

Wax - is a solid, slighty shiny substance

made of fat or oil which is used to make
candle or cosmetics product. It melts when
it is heated.
• Candelilla Wax - it is derived from the leaves of the small Candelilla.

Vitamin - is an organic molecule that hs an essential micronutrient that an

organism needs in a small quantities for the proper functioning of its metabolism.
• Vitamin E - is a group of eight fat soluble compounds that include four
tocopherols and four tocotrienold.

Oil - is any nonpolar chemical substance that is composed primarily of hydrocarbons

and is hydrophobic
• Coconut Oil - is an edible derived from the wick, meat, and milk of the
coconut palm fruit.
• Shea Butter Oil - is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea
tree.
• Essential Oil - is an concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing
volatile chemical compounds from plants.
• Lavender Essential Oil - is an obtained by distillation from the flower
spikes of certain species of lavender.
• Peppermint Essential Oil - is the oil taken from the flowering parts
and leaves of the peppermint plants.
• Olive Oil - is a liquid fat obtained from olives

Mica Powder - is a natural stone mineral that contains small. shiny flakes. It is
then groun down to form a mica powder- a shimmer pogment that looks like a very
fine glitter and is availble in a vast range of colours.
• Rose Gold Mica Powder - is a pink gold cosmetic powder. it is blended
with biodegradable glitter for an outstanding performance effect.

Honey bees - is a eusocial flying insect within the genus Apis of the bee clade
• Honey - Honey is a sweet and viscous substance made by several bees,
the best-known of which are honey bees. Honey is made and stored to nourish bee
colonies.
