What is the process of flashing the copier's bootrom and system software?

Answer :
Figure 1, below shows an overview of what tool is used to flash certain device components.

The copier device can be brought to Download Mode in two ways:

To start flashing the Main Controller or DC Controller PCB, browse to the folder location where the
new SSW was extracted, Figure 3. Open the firmware folder to flash the device with, and run the
executable file, Figure 4. Please note that firmware for the Finisher can be flashed by using the
Service Support Tool utility only. Additionally, please note that this particular device can be flashed
using a USB or a network cable.

The Tool will automatically detect the USB connection shown in Figure 8. Note that, if the device is
connected to the network and has a configured IP address, it can be flashed through the network.
This is done by checking the radio button and specifying it IP address shown in Figure 9.

Finally, note that the finisher can only be flashed using Canon's Service Support Tool. Hence
the Finisher firmware in Figure 14 must be first be registered to SST.
