List of Options For The SOK Project
The practical side of the project consists of 20 hours of work, done in 8 - 10 activities/sessions over several
weeks.
However, before you start the activities/sessions you must first pick a topic/organization for your project.
Before I start listing the different opportunities, unfortunately, I must inform you that this year’s Euroscola
project does not qualify for the SOK for reasons that are beyond our control, even though it is marked as
such in the description on the EP page.
The competition and meeting dates make it impossible for the participant to use it for the SOK project.
However, we encourage you to apply for this magnificent experience. The highlight of the project is a trip
to Strasbourg where you would be able to discuss political issues in the EU parliament. This project qualifies
as an EP unit.
The SOK Department is organizing another project called the Media Literacy Project, for those who want
to pursue a career in communications, journalism, content creation, social media analysis or social media
copywriting or are generally interested in the topic. Apply here:

On the following webpage you will find the full list of Enrichment Programme Units offered at Junior
College: https://www.jc.um.edu.mt/ourservices/enrichmentprogramme/allepunits
Attention: Not all the EP Units qualify for the SOK project. Check whether they qualify or not by:
2. Making sure that the hours offered by the EP of choice comply with the Matsec rules: 20 hours of work,
done in 8 - 10 activities/sessions over several weeks.
3. Discussing the topic of choice with your project tutor [SOK Lecturer] to determine its feasibility

ideAzzjonisti: this is an experience in Active Citizenship. It is hybrid (part online and part in person) and it
involves a short course and then an experience in the community. You can apply as individuals or in
groups. In order to know more about this you can visit the Aġenzija website https://youth.gov.mt/ and
scroll down for the ideAzzjonisti link. You can apply directly from this page. Environment NGOs – there
are many, however I listed a few for ideas.
