1. SECTION-A is COMPULSORY consisting of TEN questions carrying T WO marks

2. SECTION - B & C. have FOUR questions each.
3. Attempt any FIVE questions from SECTION B & C carrying EIGHT marks each.

SECTION-A
1. Answer briefly :

b) The variance of 20 observations is 5. If each observation is multiplied by 2, find the
new variance.
7. a) Find the co-ordinates of the foot of the perpendicular from the point A (–1, 3) to the
line 3x – 4y = 10 and hence, find the length of perpendicular from point A to the line.
b) Find the mean deviation from the median of the data : 3,9,5,3,12,10,18,4,7,19,21.
8. Use Cramer’s rule to solve the following system of linear equations :
x + y + z = 1, 2x + y – z = 3, x – 2y – 3z = 4.
