NOTICE
Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB) invites online application in
the website (https://www.aesrb.in) from the permanent residents of Assam and having
requisite qualification for recruitment to the vacant posts of Lecturer (Technical) in the
Polytechnics under the Higher Education (Technical) Department, Government of Assam, as
indicated below:

Note: 1. In pursuance to the Govt. of Assam OM No.ABP.129/2018/170 dated 21stDecember, 2022,
the reserved posts for. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category have been counted as
Unreserved (UR).
2. The no. of posts mentioned above relating to Lecturer (Technical) in State Polytechnics are
those posts which have become vacant since 25thMay, 2017 (not advertised by APSC) and are
free from any legal issues.
PERSONS WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITY (PwBD): Physically Handicapped (PH) persons can
avail reservation and relaxations as permissible under the existing rules of Government only when
degree of disability is 40% or more for the posts reserved and suitable for PwBD candidates.
The type of disability for the above posts will be as mentioned below:
a) B (Blind), LV (Low Vision)
b) D (Deaf), HH (Hard of Hearing)
c) OA (One Arm), BA (Both Arms), OL (One Leg), BL (Both Leg), OAL (One Arm and One Leg), LC
(Leprosy Cured), Dw (Dwarfism), AAV (Acid Attack Victims)
d) ASD (M) (Autism Spectrum Disorder-Mild), SLD (Specific Learning Disability), MI (Mental Illness)
e) MD (Multiple Disabilities) involving (a) to (d) above
Qualification:
A. Level 9A- B.E./B. Tech./B.S. in relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent.
B. Level 10- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in relevant disciplines with First Class in either of
the two at the time of application.
Note: Level 10: Integrated M. Tech degree to be considered, provided the candidate secured first
class in the Integrated M. Tech course in relevant discipline.
Scale of Pay:
A. Level-9A: Rs.56,100 – Rs.1,77,500 plus other allowances as admissible under Rules.
B. Level 10: Rs.57,700 – Rs.1,82,400 plus other allowances as admissible under Rules.
Age:
The candidate should not be less than 21 years of age and more than 38 years of age as on
01-01-2023.
The upper age limit is relaxable up to:
(i) 5 (five) years for SC/STP/STH candidates i.e. up to 43 years.
(ii) 3 (three) years for OBC/ MOBC candidates i.e. up to 41 years and
(iii) 10 (ten) years for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates i.e. up to 48 years
irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category candidates.
(iv) For Ex-servicemen: The maximum age limit for entry into Government services for Grade-l
and Grade-II posts in respect of Ex-servicemen shall be relaxed up to 50(fifty) years for
un-reserved category:
● Provided that the upper age limit in respect of Ex-servicemen who belongs to Other
Backward Classes or More Other Backward Classes shall be relaxed by 3 (three) years
over their general age limit of 50(fifty) years i.e. up to 53 (fifty three) years.
● Provided that the upper age limit in respect of Ex-servicemen who belongs to the
Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes shall be relaxed by a further age relaxation of five
years over their general age limit of 50 (fifty) years i.e. up to 55 (fifty-five) years.

HOW TO APPLY:
CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ONLINE APPLICATION FORM ONLY THROUGH THE LINK
AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF ASSAM ENGINEERING SERVICE RECRUITMENT BOARD.
NO OTHER MODE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION IS VALID.
A) The link for Online Applications will be available shortly in the official website of AESRB
(http://www.aesrb.in) only. The last date of submission of online application along with
requisite fees will be notified accordingly.
B) Intending applicants are to visit the website of the Board to fill up the online form and
upload latest passport size photo and signature.
C) Applicants shall have to pay application fees of Rs.250.00 (For General candidates) and
Rs.150.00 (For SC/ST/OBC candidates) through the payment gateway provided in the
on-line portal only in the website of AESRB except BPL and PwBD candidates.
D) Application without prescribed application fee will be summarily rejected.
E) After the application is ‘submitted’ in the on-line system, the applicant shall take out a
printout for future reference of the candidate as and when required.
F) The candidates applying for various posts should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility
conditions before submission of online application. Their candidature at all the stages of
recruitment process for which they are applying will be purely provisional, subject to
satisfaction of the prescribed eligibility conditions. If it is found that he/she does not fulfil
any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature for the recruitment will be cancelled at
any time during the recruitment process or thereafter.
G) In case of detection of any false declaration/ statement made by any applicant, his/her
application will be rejected and necessary steps shall be taken under appropriate provisions
of Law against such applicants.
H) Candidates may apply for more than one post if he/she is eligible and for that the candidate
has to pay application fee separately, as applicable.
Note: Candidates who have already applied against the earlier advertisement for the vacant posts
of Lecturer (Technical) in the Government Polytechnics of Assam published by the AESRB vide No.
AESRB-02/2022 will have to apply afresh with the requisite application fees.
However, the application fees of the earlier advertisement will be refunded and the process
for refund of application fees has already been initiated and it will reflect in the candidate’s source
of payment. The status of refund of application fee will be reflected in the online application portal
of the respective candidates while submitting the application and accordingly candidates have to
make the payment of application fee afresh.
Further, condonation of upper age limit will be allowed to the eligible candidates who had
applied earlier for the vacant posts of Lecturer (Technical) in the Government Polytechnics of
Assam published by the AESRB vide No. AESRB-02/2022, but have now crossed the upper age limit.

PROCESS OF RECRUITMENT:
The Recruitment process will comprise of
(i) OMR-MCQ based Written Examination - 75 Marks
(ii) Teaching Proficiency Test - 25 Marks
The OMR_MCQ based question Paper/Booklets shall contain 75 questions carrying 1(one)
mark for each correct answer. There will be negative marking of 0.25 (one –fourth) marks for wrong
answer against each question. Only shortlisted candidate will be called for Teaching Proficiency
Test.

The necessary guidelines/instructions relating to OMR-MCQ based Written Examination and
Teaching Proficiency Test will be notified in due course of time in the official website of AESRB.

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING UP ONLINE APPLICATION FORM:

The guidelines for filling up the online application form will be available in the official website of
AESRB (https://www.aesrb.in) in due course of time.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

i. The eligibility of a candidate in terms of requisite qualifications and other criteria
required for the respective posts shall be decided after physical verification of the
original documents only of the shortlisted candidates based on Written Test.
ii. Applicants already employed have to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ issued by
Controlling Authority in due course of time.
iii. The candidates will have to submit Declaration Form-A, related to the Assam Public
Services (Application of Small Family norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019
published vide Government Notification No:ABP.69/2019/17 dated Dispur, the 6th
November, 2019 which may be downloaded from the official website of AESRB.
iv. Canvassing directly or indirectly shall disqualify a candidate.
v. The Board reserves the right to cancel, alter or modify the advertisement or other terms
and conditions of the advertisement without any prior notice.
vi. Any change or amendment to this Advertisement will be posted only in the AESRB
website.
vii. Intending applicants advised to visit the AESRB website frequently for any Addendum,
Corrigendum, Notices etc.
viii. All other matters which are not specially provided in this advertisement shall be decided
by the Board.
Note: 1. The final shortlisted candidates for Teaching Proficiency Test will be published in the website
of Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (https://www.aesrb.in) along with the
list of rejected candidates showing grounds of rejection in due course of time.
2. The list of finally selected candidates shall be submitted to the concerned department of the
Government. The same shall also be published in the website of the Board.
