A pleasant afternoon to everyone, especially to prof Trammy Ortega. So...Now let's proceed to
the our second topic which is the ''NATIONAL POLICIES AIMED FOR HERITAGE PRESERVATION''.

Let's start to the:

*Republic Act No. 10066

(National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009)*
:This comprehensive law outlines the protection and conservation of the country's cultural
heritage. It covers tangible and intangible heritage, including historical sites, artifacts, and
traditional knowledge.
EXPLANATION;
-The National Cultural Heritage Act, also known as Republic Act No. 10066, is a Philippine law
that established the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) and other measures to
conserve historic buildings older than 50 years. On March 25, 2009, it was signed into law.
-This law aims to protect, preserve, conserve and promote the nation’s cultural heritage,
its property and histories, and the ethnicity of local communities. It also aims
to establish and strengthen cultural institutions and protect cultural workers and ensure
their professional development and well-being.
Why cultural heritage need to protect and preserve?

Cultural heritage needs to be protected and preserved because, its represents our collective
history of a society or community. It includes physical artifacts, structures, and intangible
traditions that provide insights into the past. Preserving cultural heritage allows us to
understand our history, learn from it, and pass it on to future generations.

Although Cultural heritage is a vital part of a community's identity. It reflects the values, beliefs,
customs, and traditions that define a group of a people. Preserving cultural heritage helps
communities maintain their unique identity and sense of belonging.

National Cultural heritage serves as a valuable resource for education (also) and research. It
offers opportunities for studying the evolution of societies, technologies, art forms, and
languages. It provides a rich source of information for scholars, historians, archaeologists, and
other researchers. Furthermore, Cultural heritage sites often attract tourists, both domestic and
international. This can stimulate economic growth through tourism-related activities, such as
hospitality, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Well-preserved cultural heritage can be an
economic asset for communities.

In summary, protecting and preserving cultural heritage is essential for maintaining historical
knowledge, cultural identity, economic benefits, and the well-being of communities. It also
contributes to the broader goals of education, research, environmental conservation, and the
promotion of cultural diversity.

Why is it important to know the national cultural heritage of the Philippines?

So for me…As a tourism student, Cultural heritage is central to protecting our sense of who we
are. It gives us an irrefutable connection to the past – to certain social values, beliefs, customs
and traditions, that allows us to identify ourselves with others and deepen our sense of unity,
belonging and national pride. Also, what I said earlier it can pass it on to future generations.

Now may I call on Ms. Banados to discuss the republic act no. 7356..

*Republic Act No. 10086

(Philippine National Historical Society Act)*:

This law supports the study and preservation of Philippine history and culture.

EXPLANATION;
This Act shall be known as the "Strengthening Peoples' Nationalism Through Philippine History
Act". It is hereby declared to be the policy of the State to conserve, promote and popularize the
nation's historical and cultural heritage and resources.

Philippine history change the nomenclature of the National Historical Institute

into the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, strengthening its powers.
and functions, and for other purposes; also known as the Philippine Cultural Heritage
Act of 2010.

-Republic Act No. 10086, also known as the "Philippine National Historical Society Act," was
enacted in the Philippines to provide for the preservation, enrichment, and promotion of the
nation's historical and cultural heritage. The law was signed on March 12, 2010, and it aims to
strengthen the role of the National Historical Institute (NHI), now known as the National
Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), as the primary government agency responsible
for historical and cultural matters.

Why do we need to preserve and respect our philippine culture and history?

Preserving and respecting Philippine culture and history is essential for a variety of reasons, as it
serves multiple important purposes:

1. Cultural Identity: Culture and history are fundamental to a nation's identity. They shape
the beliefs, values, and practices of its people. By preserving and respecting Philippine
culture and history, Filipinos can maintain a strong sense of identity and connection to
their roots, fostering a shared sense of belonging and pride.
2. National Pride: A rich cultural heritage and a deep understanding of history can instill a
sense of pride and patriotism among Filipinos. Knowing and appreciating their country's
achievements, struggles, and contributions to the world can boost national pride and
unity.
3. Tourism and Economy: Cultural heritage sites and traditions can be significant tourist
attractions. Preserving and showcasing these aspects of Philippine culture and history
can boost tourism and contribute to the country's economy. It can also create jobs and
opportunities for local communities.
4. Preservation of Artifacts: Cultural and historical preservation includes the protection of
valuable artifacts, documents, and archaeological sites. These artifacts and records can
provide valuable insights into the past, helping researchers and historians reconstruct
history accurately
5. Legacy for Future Generations: Preserving culture and history is a way of passing down
a legacy to future generations. It ensures that the stories, traditions, and achievements of
the past are not forgotten and can continue to inspire and inform the generations to
come.

Republic Act No. 10086 reflects the Philippine government's commitment to preserving its
rich cultural and historical heritage for future generations.

In summary, preserving and respecting Philippine culture and history is not just a matter of
tradition; it's a way to strengthen national identity, promote unity, and harness the valuable
lessons and assets that culture and history provide for the benefit of the nation and its
people.

As a tourism student, preserving and respecting Philippine culture and history is not only a
matter of national pride but also a fundamental aspect of sustainable and responsible
tourism development. It contributes to economic growth, cultural exchange, and the overall
well-being of local communities and the nation as a whole.

Policy Proposal: Promoting Heritage Tourism through Traditional Festivals

*Republic Act No. 03026 (Cultural Heritage Protection Act or CHP)*

“This act focuses on the protection of heritage sites with historical background . It
also aims against tourists who destroy or vandalize historical buildings or
structures here in the Philippines.”

Napili namin ang policy na ito para mag bigay pa lalo ng impormasyon sa mga
tourist kung paano natin pine preserve at protektahan ang mga historical sites at
straktura at iba pang mga magagandang lugar na bahagi na ng kasaysayan ng ating
bansa.

As a group of future flight attendants or should i say we the future flight

attendants of our county we are also responsible for the cleanliness and safety of
historical places in the country, as we are the ones who guide our tourists and give
them information about the history and cultural background of a certain historical
place, and how we should nurture, treat and act while we are around with those
places, as our way of paying respects and gratitude to our ancestors who made
such contributions to the mankind.
