1. Setting Up
1-1. System Requirements
GenTouch Software operates under the system shown below.
OS Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit)
Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (32 bit)
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32 bit)
Monitor EIZO FlexScan touch panel monitor using Surface Acoustic Wave technology
Note
• If you connect multiple monitors to a PC, the number of touch panel monitor must be one (more than
one touch panel monitor that is connected to a PC cannot work).
1 Connect the USB cable to the PC USB Downstream port and to the monitor USB
Upstream port
Note
• Make sure to connect the USB cable before installing the driver. If you connect the USB cable
after installing the driver, the monitor will not be recognized.
2 Connect the power cord to the power connector and the power outlet
4 Turn on the PC, and log on to the user account that has the “Administrators”
privilege
For user account privilege settings, contact your system administrator.
After inserting the “EIZO LCD Utility Disk” CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive the menu will
open automatically.
Tips
• If the menu does not open automatically, double-click “Launcher.exe” from the drive into which
the “EIZO LCD Utility Disk” CD-ROM has been inserted. The menu starts up.

Tips
• The “User Account Control” dialog may appear.
Click [Yes]/[Continue] to open the setup wizard.

Note
• Please make sure to select “USB”. This monitor does not support the serial interface.

Tips
• When the “View GeneralTouch touchscreen control panel.” is checked, the GenTouch control
panel opens when you click [Finish].

1-3. Calibration
After completing the installation of driver, please make sure to perform the following procedure to
calibrate the screen.
Note
• Start the calibration within 30 seconds after the calibration window opens. Otherwise, the calibration
is canceled.
2 Click the button in the lower right corner of the “Calibration” tab
The calibration window opens.
Note
• If you work in a multiple monitor environment, select the monitor to calibrate from the pull-
down list in the “Calibration” tab.

Tips
• If you press the [ESC] key when the calibration window is displayed, the calibration will be
interrupted.
After the calibration is completed, the “Checking calibration results” window opens.
4 Click [Yes]
Tips
• To perform the calibration again, click [No].

• If you are installing in a Windows Vista environment, the “User Account Control” dialog may
appear.
Click [Yes]/[Continue] to open the uninstallation wizard.

Click [Restart Now]/[Yes] to restart the PC.

Tips
• GenPanel can also be opened from [GeneralTouchTouchScreen] that appears by clicking [Start]-[Control Panel].
This section describes about the items that can be set in each tab of the GenPanel.
Tips
• The settings become available after clicking [OK] or [Apply].

Note
• Do not use them at the same time. The right-click operation may not be detected.
Using GenPanel
Touching the monitor for the specified duration is recognized as a right-click.
Note
• Set the mouse mode to “Click on release”.
Using RightButtonTool
As the RightButtonTool icon displayed on the desktop is clicked, it is detected as a right-click.
The following icon will appear on the top right of the desktop.

• Set the mouse mode to “Click on touch”.

Setting the Double-click Operation Range [Double click range]
Sets the area range in which the double-click operation is recognized.
Click p/q for “Double click range” to adjust the range in pixel units. The default setting is 25 × 25
pixels.
Note
• The double-click speed cannot be changed. Even if you change the double-click speed on your PC, the
speed will reset when you click [Apply] on the GenTouch control panel.

3. Cautions for the Use of the Touch Panel
Note
• Under Windows 7, touch-sound is only output through the audio output terminal of the PC. To hear
touch-sound, connect speakers.
