Still honoring
our Veterans

Veterans Day 2023 is in the
rearview mirror, but it is important
to honor our Veterans year-round.
Valley County has a lot of
veterans living in the area. I have
three brothers that are Veterans.
Two of them were in the Navy and
one of them could hear the bombing
from the ship he was on. Fortunately
none of them saw any action.
I had a neighbor that was in
the Army. I believe he was a Green
Beret. I wish I had a list of all
the Veterans still living in Valley

trail guides and signs and presented programs to diverse
audiences from around the world.

• Receive a living allowance of $19,538 over 44-week
term of service and a $300 housing stipend per month.
• Receive an AmeriCorps education award of $7,395
upon successful completion of service. This award can
be used to pay education costs at qualified institutions
