A. CONCEPT MAP

Synthesize and integrate information and ideas you have obtained about the topic.
Create a concept map that would show the relationship between and among early
assessment, formative instructional assessment and summative assessment.
Provide an explanation (180-200 words).

Assessment is a fundamental aspect of instruction that should be, performed

frequently. Not all students are the same, and we need to evaluate them to help
them and teach them. As a future educator, we need to guide our students so that
they can achieve their goals in life. When we say, formative assessment gathers
proof or evidence to provide feedback about learning to the student and the teacher,
for example, the short quiz. While the summative assessment, they use the
evidence of learning to provide judgment, for example, the semester examination.
Formative assessments and summative assessments will create the best learnings
of student performance. Assessing the academic, physical, and social behaviors of
each student will provide the teacher with knowledge regarding the student’s level of
development and individual skill levels. This indicator also makes sure that the
assessment processes and results serve clear and appropriate purposes for both
the teacher and the students. Also, the assessment provides opportunities for
individuals to monitor the quality of their performance and identify areas for
improvement. As future educators, we must assess students for quite a range of
different reasons, motivation, creating opportunities for learning at the same time to
give feedback to both students and teachers.

B. MEME

Your goal is to think of analogies or metaphors for the roles of assessment:

placement, formative, diagnostic, summative. Use them and create your own
memes. In 3 to 5 sentences, give a brief explanation for each meme.

The word ‘meme’ was coined by Richard Dawkins to explain how cultural information spreads. Now, it
pertains to an idea that spreads from person to person within a culture, commonly taking the form of
an image or photo with an accompanying word or phrase.

Samples: Below are images with integrated metaphors about the roles of assessment.

 In this meme, it shows the facial expression of the girl. When the time she takes
the entrance examination in LNU. Because she is nervous, and she thinks if she
will pass or failed in the exam.

2. Formative Assessment

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT!

THANK YOU I PASS!

 It shows how he is happy when he passes the quiz. Also, every one of us
deserves happiness if we get better scores on the quizzes and tests. But we
need to lessen carefully when the teacher discusses the topic so that we can
understand the topic. And to get higher scores or to provide feedback to the
teacher.

3. DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT
DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT

IT’S SINK OR SWIM!

 A diagnostic assessment is a form of pre-assessment where teachers can

evaluate students' strengths, weaknesses, knowledge, and skills before their
instruction. It refers to an assignment written at the beginning and end of a
course. Also, it helps to inform the teacher of lesson planning, learning
objectives, and identify areas that may need more or less time spent.

4. SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

EVERY TIME AFTER SUMMATIVE MATH ASSESSMENT!

 The goal of the summative assessment meme is to evaluate student learning at

the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard.
Summative assessments are often high stakes, which means that they have a
high point value. Like taking the semester examination.
