Customs and Curiosities.

The customs depend on each region of the country, but the ones I will mention are the most
common:

1.Paper in the toilet

Every Argentine throws paper down the toilet, it is not common to see a garbage can. Imagine
someone who does not come from this culture and has to deal with these types of cases, and
you hesitate for a second, but you know.

2.Drinking mate
It is said that mate originates from Uruguay, but the Argentines adopted and made this custom
their own, which consists of a herb with water. In Argentina there is no time to enjoy a good
mate, either alone or in a meeting with friends or family chats, it is even shared with the little
ones, from 3 years old.

3. The shapes of the sockets.

The shape of the plugs is diagonal, as we see in the image, unlike our culture, which is normal,
this is because in Argentina the voltage is 220.

4. Greet with a kiss.

It is very common to greet each other with a kiss on the cheek, regardless of race, color or
gender. Unlike other cultures, the kiss on the cheek corresponds when they are friends of the
opposite sex, relatives, between girls or an acquaintance, but among men it is not common
and there is another type of greeting such as a handshake or a hug. Imagine that they greet
you in Argentina and they respond with a kiss on the cheek, worse if it's between a man, you
hesitate for a moment and say, what's wrong with this man? So if you're going to say hello,
don't panic.

5.Foods
In Argentina they have a sweet breakfast, that is, Churros with chocolate, Pancakes or cookies
with honey, unlike other cultures that first have something salty for breakfast, during lunch
they prefer some typical food such as roast or barbecue or some type of sandwich, and during
the dinner they eat dishes that contain flour such as pasta, pizza, ice cream, salads, among
others
6.Departures
When you are going to travel, it is not common for them to tell you the distance in how long
you will arrive, but rather how many kilometers you will arrive or need. As for the departure of
friends or family, the meeting point is first at home and then wherever they want to go.

7.Hollywood keys
We have seen this type of key almost in horror movies, and it is used for doors and gates,
there are also simple keys, but it is only used in padlocks.

8.Applause upon landing

If you are arriving by plane to Argentina and several people who share the flight are of that
nationality, do not be surprised by the applause when you land, they are a way of thanking the
pilots for their work and, of course, for taking a plane to their destination. flight with everyone
safe and sound.

9.Sport is his religion.

In Argentina, sport is lived in a different way when it comes to football, having two number
one figures in the world such as Maradona and Messi. The passion for the field extends to all
corners of the country, that is, each Argentine puts on his shirt or something that
differentiates him from his favorite team and enjoys it loudly either on the field or in a place
like his home.
