An end that
can be reasonably achieved within an expected timeframe and with available resources. In general, an objective is broader in scope than a goal, and may consist of several individual goals. Objectives are a basic tools that underlying all planning and strategic activities.

For example, if one of your long-term goals is to get an electrical engineering degree in five years, you can set up enabling goals for each semester or quarter of college that supports this long-term goal. These goals could include attending classes, participating in professional
development and internship opportunities at your school, maintaining a certain grade point average, and staying up-to-date in your readings and assignments. Long-term goals work when you achieve your short-term goals in ways that are meaningful to the long-term goal. For example, your 1,000 words per day must be directly applicable to the larger work you have named in your long-term goal. Other writing that does not directly serve that long-term goal (such as journal writing or blog postings) is meaningless to that specific goal, although such writings may serve other goals.

Many people endeavor to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines. To do something productive and innovative in field of science with an industry so as to have an idea of advancement in field of different technology employed in industry as well as sharpen my managerial skills and to make myself aware of global competitiveness existing in current market. Short-term objectives are often process related and necessary preconditions to achieving an organizations long-term policy goal. For example, These objectives may be related to gains in organizational capacity, The development of strategic relationships , or Increases in organizational visibility and recognition. Short-term objectives lend even more precision to the plan. Objectives are more specific in terms of what is to be done and the timeframe in which it is to be accomplished. Setting
Short-term objectives can be difficult and challenging. Short-term objectives are: Specific (they indicate exactly what will be accomplished),
Measurable (they can be quantified with a specific target that is set so
challenging), Rewarding (provide motivation for the accomplishing a task), and Timed (specify a specific date by which the objective will be achieved).
