    Zyxel Switch GS1900 Series

    V2.80(Axxx.0)C0 Release Note

    Date: Oct. 19, 2023


    This document describes the features in the GS1900 for its 2.80(Axxx.0)C0
    release.

    *Zyxel recommends GS1900 switches with the serial number of S21XXXXXXXXXX


    (or later) to operate on V2.70 firmware (minimum) for compatibility issues across
    multiple hardware revisions. Attempting to operate with prior firmware will
    encounter system failure in powering up powered devices. More details please
    refer to ZYXEL Community.

    New Features and Enhancements

    1. Support importing HTTPs Certificate.

    2. To enhance security, a default password change will be mandatory


    when logging into web interface.

    Utility based on the VLAN egress rules.

    Bug Fix

    1. [eITS#230201247] Fixed OpenSSL related vulnerabilities. [CVE-2022-


    4304][CVE-2023-0215][CVE-2023-0286]

    2. [eITS#230700106] Fixed improper access control vulnerability via web


    GUI.

    3. [eITS#230500345] Fixed stopping power delivery issue on PoE switch


    models.

    4. [eITS#230200111] Fixed the issue of cross-routing access being


    unavailable when the switch uses a Unique Local IPv6 Address.

    5. [eITS#230500459] Fixed the issue where changing the SFP port speed
    from 100M to 1000M would result in a switch port link going down.

    Known Issue

    1. After upgrading to firmware V2.70 or later versions from V2.60 or prior


    versions, Switch will operate properly on the new firmware even though
    the firmware version indicate “Unknown”. The recovery step is to reboot
    the Switch and it will display the correct firmware version.

    2. If user ever saved the configuration in V2.70 patch 0, re-create SNMPv3


    entry is required after upgrading to V2.70 patch 1.

    3. If user tries to restore an illegal configuration (unofficial), login will always


    show authentication fail.

    4. Incorrect display of system name when it contains special characters.

    5. Some pages cannot display correctly when IE 8 enable “Compatibility


    View Settings”.
    Workaround - Upgrade IE browser to the latest version or disable
    “Compatibility View Settings.”

    6. Downgrade from V2.50 to V2.40 and below versions will cause admin
    account unable to login. This is due to password authentication
    algorithms are enhanced for vulnerability issues and is not backwards
    compatible. In the unlikely event of downgrading firmware, resetting to
    default can then login with default account and password.

    7. Switch firmware V2.50 is only compatible with ZON V2.1.4, ZON V2.1.3
    and lower are not compatible. Functions requiring password
    authentication will fail to authenticate due to previous ZON version
    does not support V2.50 password authentication algorithms.

    4. Static MAC entries : 64
    5. The BWM works well with UDP only.
