Welcome to the English Grade 7 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on
Use Phrases, Clauses and Sentences Appropriately and Meaningfully !
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by
educators both from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or
facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12
Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints
in schooling.

3. identify independent and dependent clause
4. state your own ideas, thoughts and emotions through writing.

Had a great house- is a Noun phrase because after the linking

Had been praising- is a Verb phrase because after the linking
verb Had is another linking verb and regular verb.

Sentence is series of words that has meaning with a subject and predicate.

Subject Predicate
Clause is a group of words that has both a subject and a predicate. Every
complete sentence is made up of at least one clause.
Michael bought a new computer, even he stiil has the old one.
Independent Clause Dependent Clause
Independent Clause makes sense by itself. It expresses a complete thought.
Dependent Clause does not make sense by itself. It needs the help of the
independent clause to make the meaning complete.
