Kampung Naga is administratively located in Neglasari Village, Salawu District, Tasikmalaya,
West Java. It is inhabited by a community with a very strong tradition. They live in a traditional
atmosphere seen from the simplicity and environmental wisdoms.
Kampung Naga is located not far from the main road that connects to the city of Tasikmalaya. It
lies in a fertile valley, bordered by Naga forest on the west. The forest is sacred because it is
located in the ancestral cemetery. On the south are rice fields, and on the north and east are
surrounded by the Ciwulan River, of which the water comes from Mount Cikuray in Garut.
Kampung Naga is approximately 30 kilometers away from Tasikmalaya city, while the
distance from Garut city is about 26 kilometers. People must climb down a ladder on the wall to
the bank of Ciwulan River with the slope about 45 degrees to reach Kampung Naga.
Kampung Naga occupies one and a half hectares area, mostly used for housing, yards, ponds,
and rice fields. The harvest time comes twice a year.
