SAFE PLACE Infant and Pediatric Security Solutions

®

Keeping newborns and children safe is critical, and a secure facility elevates your hospital’s reputation. Protect your
patients, give families peace of mind, and reduce your risk of abductions—and associated liabilities.

Safety for Your Tiniest Patients

Customizable to your hospital’s needs, helping protect infants and children without interfering with
everyday workflow.

■ Fully-supervised system—monitored doors and elevators lock even if server goes down.
■ Optional BABY CHECK® feature protects against accidental infant mismatch.
■ Barrier free—visitors and staff can easily flow through the hospital. Transmitter with
SMART SENSE® banding

Easy and Automated System

Patients are fitted with small, lightweight transmitters which continuously check in with the system. If a banded
patient is too close to a monitored exit, doors lock, an alarm sounds, and staff receives instant notification
via wireless technology.
■ Patient is automatically added to the system within one minute after the transmitter is fitted.
■ Escort feature allows patients to be taken from monitored areas for a set time without an alarm sounding.
■ Specific doorways can be set as patient gateways to better secure exit locations.
■ Staff receives alerts at a central computer station, or via a variety of mobile devices.

SMART SENSE Band Technology with Cut-band Protection

®

■ Patented SMART SENSE technology provides multiple methods of tamper detection.

■ Senses when a transmitter is loose or no longer in contact with the infant and notifies staff.
■ Softest, most comfortable banding available; won’t cut or chafe fragile skin; tighten or loosen bands without
replacing band, saving time and money.
Complies with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) safety guidelines. Independently tested by and certified by ETL Laboratories to
the UL 294 Standard for Access Control Systems.

CODE ALERT Unplanned Discharge and Wander Management Solution

®

Hospitals are reporting an increase in the frequency of patients who leave against medical advice, putting the patient at medical
risk—and leaving your facility in a difficult risk position. Certain patients, including those with mental illness or dementia, are
at higher risk for unplanned discharge. CODE ALERT is ideal for use in ER, acute care, behavioral management, rehab, and
dementia units. Patients deemed at risk of flight or wander can be monitored via lightweight, wireless wrist or ankle-style
transmitters that enable barrier-free mobility, while allowing visitors and staff to move easily throughout the facility.
■ Cut-band detection—tamper-resistant bands can only be assigned or removed by authorized staff.
■ Fully-supervised system alerts staff to potential issues before an elopement occurs.
■ Antenna detects when a transmitter is in close proximity of a monitored exit; system arms the
door and instantly notifies caregivers; alarm sounds if an attempt is made to open a locked door.
■ Computer-based reports enable improved staff efficiency and quality of care.

Two Options: Choose the Protection That’s Right for Your Facility
1. Perimeter Alarm Security
Model T30 is an “always armed” non-PC-based system that provides
24/7 exit monitoring:

■ Keypads at exits enable alarm bypass with security code.

2. Transmitter-based Protection
Model T70 and T80 controllers are transmitter-based, with antennas to
monitor exits:
■ Elevators deactivate to keep patients safe on their designated floor.
■ Escort feature enables patients to leave an area for a set time without

HELP ALERT Wireless Panic Alert System for Healthcare

®

The threat of violence in today’s healthcare environment is greater than in any other work setting. With the HELP ALERT®
Wireless Panic Alert System, staff members have peace of mind that, if they need it, help is on the way at the touch of a button.

Rapid Response—Intervene Before a Situation Escalates to Violence

Unlike fixed panic buttons or repeater-based systems, mobile panic alarms enable security teams to locate staff
within seconds—even if they are on the move. When the panic button on a HELP ALERT pendant is pushed, the
individual’s exact location is collected via Wi-Fi from Locator Beacons positioned throughout the facility. Within
seconds, a server relays that information to all security-monitoring computers. Mobile apps also allow security alerts
to be tracked via Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

Real-Time Location Accuracy that Leverages Your Existing

Wi-Fi Infrastructure
Unlike infrared detection, which relies on a pendant being visible to a locating receiver,
HELP ALERT is powered by our advanced PINPOINT® platform, which uses a Real-Time
Locating System (RTLS) to identify the exact location of staff in need of assistance, enabling
security teams to quickly locate and respond when a call for help comes in. Another
advantage is that the PANIC ALERT system can be easily installed using your existing Wi-Fi
infrastructure, usually without having to add Wi-Fi access points.

Use Software Data to Predict Behavior and Prevent Violence

Software within the HELP ALERT system captures and stores alert statistics so you can
review and analyze how your system is being utilized, helping ensure it is being optimized to
provide for the safest possible workplace.
