Essay: Answer concisely. Put your answers below each questions.

1. What makes you a Filipino? 5 points

The question was quite easy to answer but as I was thinking and try to ask myself that what
makes me a Filipino, then I was able to know and understand who I am as a Filipino. The
term “Filipino” is originally meant a Spaniard born of Spanish parents in the Philippines.
The name was given to distinguish them as a foreign-born and not a peninsular Spaniards.
The original name called to us was “Indio” which was used to refer to the indigenous people
besides if we go back to our history, around 1521 when the Spaniards came here in the
Philippines which the name Philippines was named through their king, our ancestors was
not called “Filipino” but “aetas” or “ati” who really the natives of this land. Then, “Filipino”
name only begun to be applied to the Malay Filipino towards the end of the Spanish
regime. Then, name doesn’t matter to me because it is a linguistic issue to tackle here.
There are a lot things to be considered here if we talk about what makes me a Filipino. I
may tackle my citizenship, the place where I was born, the language I used, the thoughts
that I have, the society I belongs, the way I behave, and the beliefs I used to believe. I am
a Filipino also because of the language that I used even though that others may say that
our language was grounded from other countries especially those counties who conquered
us. Then, our native languages still exist but we just not able to recognize. I am Filipino
because of the Filipino myth that believe. I was able to believe to those myth because of
my grandparents thought me those things and it makes me unique as a Filipino. One more
thing is that, we have our beliefs like the “aswang”, “manananggal”, “tikbalang”, “kapre”,
etc., which are originally Filipino in context.I am a Filipino because I am family-oriented
because I was able to know my family both to my father and my mother side especially
their roots, the extended family that we have, even the extreme relatives. I am a Filipino
because I have the character to adjust in the environment or in the society I may dwell or I
know how to “makisama” to other people. I am Filipino because of the food that I ate, like
ballot, uga, takway, adobo, batchoy, and many Filipino food and dishes. In the end, there
are many things to be considered that I am a Filipino and what makes me a Filipino and
besides every people in this world has its own uniqueness which I as a Filipino have that

uniqueness from other race that makes me a Filipino. Many to mention here about me as a
Filipino and makes me a Filipino but the example I gave may convey you that I am a
Filipino and you are a Filipino.
2. Give the advantages and disadvantages of social media. 5 points
Social media can be a useful tool for businesses, bringing advantages such as engaging
with your audience and boosting website traffic. However there can also be disadvantages,
including the resources required and negative feedback. Considering these pros and cons
can help you decide the best approach to social media for your business. The advantage

important being a great device for education. All the information one requires is just a click
away. Students can educate themselves on various topics using social media. Furthermore, as
more and more people are distancing themselves from newspapers, they are depending on
social media for news. You are always updated on the latest happenings of the world through
it. A person becomes more socially aware of the issues of the world. Another advantage
definitely benefits companies who wish to promote their brands. Social media has become
a hub for advertising and offers you great opportunities for connecting with the customer.

includes: Privacy problems, Lacks emotional connections, Reduce Family Intimacy and
Lifestyle habit and Sleep disruption. First, Privacy problem. It sharing your online location or

and staring into the light from a computer or phone screen at night can negatively affect your

spending family time together and watching a movie, in reality, most children are on their

You Click’s, are also to refrain from being hurtful in messages posted online, to report cyber
bullying, to be aware that what is uploaded remains in the public domain forever and may
be abused to harm the person or others. A person’s digital footprint also determines their
public profile based on information available on the internet. With pressure being a weak
point among young people, ‘Think Before You Click’ also encourages internet users to say
‘no’ when asked to carry out something on the internet and not to feel bad or intimidated to
stop a chat thread or refuse a friend request from someone unknown. Equally dangerous
are false profiles showing they share friends in common to be more convincing in being
trustworthy. And example of that is cyberbullying. To avoid cyber bullying, it is advised to
keep personal information, such as phone number and email address, private, familiarize
yourself with privacy settings and make proper use of them. If you become a victim of this
form of abuse, it is strongly recommended not to retaliate, but to stop communicating with
the person, keep a record of all the instances of abuse including copies of emails and
messages as content can be taken down and inform at once the authorities concerned.

Letters to a Law of Students deals with the question of why anyone would want to study
Law, and in the course of so doing defends the importance of law, and by extension the
work that lawyers do. The object of this section is to provide a gateway through which you
can explore on the Internet in greater detail exactly why law is such an importance force in
our civilization. One of the example is Encouraging people to do the right thing, according
to the lights of Christian teaching on what counted as immoral behaviour. However, in the
20th century. According to which the law should not sanction people for acting immorally
unless their conduct involved some harm to others, gained more and more popularity, and
resulted in the abolition of large numbers of ‘morals laws’.The next, Resolving disputes
over limited resources. As every family knows, in any community there will always be
disputes over who should have what of a limited number of resources. Law is needed to
resolve these disputes, as exemplified

5.Respect begets respect. Explain, 5 points

It’s so easy to give respect to those who are worthy of it in your eyes, but how about giving
respect to those who don’t quite measure up. To give respect to all and not just those you
like is the true meaning of giving respect. Not being able to show respect says a lot more
about us than it does about the one in front of us. Sometimes we believe we should only
exercise this quality of respect towards those who have demonstrated that they are
deserving of it. Yet, it is possible to have regard for all human beings, despite their actions
in the moment. In fact, when we don’t give regard to all, we deprive ourselves. How so?

Because, in spiritual terms, to give is to receive. Therefore, waiting for others to become
deserving, or withholding our respect until we feel they are worthy, deprives us of feeling
and exercising this quality which is in reality a valuable treasure. Respect, as a by-product
of love, is one of our innate qualities. So in truth, we should not really need to make effort to
give it. Everybody is worthy of respect simply because they exist, because they are there in
front of you. You may not approve of a person’s behavior, but do not condemn the soul.
They are soul beings and our brothers. When one has self-respect, then one need not
compare or compete with another. That one can be assured that whatever is meant to
come their way will do so, and in its right time. A person with self-respect understands that
to compare, and to compete is meaningless.
