Sciencea LPactivity

The document outlines a detailed lesson plan for teaching students about phases of matter using a 4A's approach. The lesson plan involves dividing students into groups to do different activities like a word search, bubble diagram, and brainstorming session to identify examples of solids, liquids, and gases. Students will then analyze and present their findings. Finally, the teacher will provide definitions and examples of the three phases of matter - solid, liquid, and gas - to help students understand the key concepts. The goal is for students to appreciate the different states of matter found in objects around them.

Good job children. I have here a song
entitled "matter". Let me sing it first. The teacher will sing the
song.
Did you love it?
Yes Teacher.
Now, let us sing it altogether.
Yes Teacher.
ll. LESSON
PROPER The class will divided into three.
A. Activity
(Group) Please count off 1-3 (The class will count off 1-
3)
So here are your activities!

For group 1. Where is the group 1 ?

Raise your hands. (Group 1 will raise their
hands)
WORD SEARCH
Instruction: Search for word as many
as you can. And explain your
thoughts about the word you've
searched.
(Group 2 will raise their
hands)

For group 2: Where is the group 2 ?

Raise your hands.

BUBBLE DIAGRAM !

diagram. One for solid, one for liquid
and one also for Gas. And I want you
to list all the example of matter on the
available bubbles provided.

For group 3: Where is the group 3 ?

Please raise your hands.

BRAINSTORMING SESSION
Instruction: Together with your group.
Collect the ideas of each member
about the given word and put it on the
box.
Yes Teacher

Each group will do their

task.

Yes Teacher !

You have 10mins. To do your task.

And after that you will present that
one by one. Do you understand ?

Okay, you may start.

(Presentation of Activity)

Did you enjoy the activity class ?

B. Analysis
1.What have you observed class
while we are doing the activity ?

Who can answer ? While doing the activity I

observed teacher that
there are many things
around us.

I observed that the things

C.Abstractio
n This afternoon class, we will be going
to discuss about the phases of
matter.
Yes Teacher !
Are you ready class ?

Okay ! But first, let's define what is

matter.

What is Matter?

Matter is anything that has weight

and takes up space. And all the
things around us is a matter. Even
the air we breathe is also a matter.

Class, did you know that there are 3

phases of matter?
Solid,Liquid,Gas
What do you think are the 3 phases
of matter ?

Very Good !

Yes! There are 3 phases of matter

namely: Solid. Liquid, and Gas.
Let's discuss them one by one.

1. SOLIDS- relatively rigid,definite

volume and shape. In a solid, the
atoms and molecules are attached to
each other. They vibrate in place but
don't move around.

Example: Chairs, Book, Pen, Paper ,

Uniform and many more.

Can you give another example?

Stone,Leaves,Broomstick,
Bottles, Cellephane.
Very Good!

Always remember class, we can

determine the object if it is solid, if we
can touch and see it.

2. LIQUIDS- definite volume but able

to change shape by flowing. In a
liquid, the atoms and molecules are
loosely bonded. They move around
but stay close together.

Example: Water, Coffee,Juice,Soda

Who can give anothet example ? Rain, Gasoline, Milk

Very good !

3. GASES- no definite volume or

shape. The atoms and molecules
move freely and spread apart from
one another.

Example: Clouds, Air, Fire

Can you give another example? LPG,Tornado,

Okay Good !
Air cannot be seen because it's
colorless but it can be felt. There are
also gases that can be seen like
smoke and clouds.

Again, what do we call the things Matter.

around us?

Good. What are the three states of Solid, Liquid and Gas
matter?

What is the state of matter that has Solid.

definite size, shape and weight?

Great! What about the state of matter

that takes the shape of their container
and can also flow and it can be Liquid teacher.
poured?

Lastly, what is the state of matter that

usually cannot be seen, spreads out
easily and also takes the shape of its Gas.
container?

Very good. Let's give everyone a The pupils will do the

D.Application Since you already know what is

Matter and its three phases. We will
have another activity. I want you to
create 3 groups. We will count again (The students will count
1-3 so that you will have another again 1-3)
groupmates.

Three groups are ready ? Yes Teacher !

Okay, very good!

For group 1: Sort and Match States

of Matter
Instruction: I have a different cut out
pictures here . And I want you to Sort
and Match it in it’s correct states of
matter. Did you understand Group 1? Yes Teacher !
For group 2: FLOW CHART!

Instruction: Together with your group

create a graphic organizer about 3
phases of matter.
1st table is the name of the 3 phases
of matter
2nd table is characteristics of 3
phases of matter
3rd tables is the sample materials of 3
phases of matter.
For group 3: DRAW ME !
Instruction: Together with your group.
Draw examples of Solid,Liquid and
Gas.

Did you get it Group 3? Yes Teacher !

You can now start your activity class.

Make it creative. Goodluck ! Okay Teacher !

(Each group will do their

task)

(PRESENTATION OF ACTIVITY)

IV. EVALUATION

QUESTION ROULETTE !
For our quiz, I have a container here full of questions about our topic. I want you to
shake it up and chose 1 question and answer it. If you got the correct answer you have
automatic 20 points, if not the next student will answer the question. Pass the container
until all your classmates finished to answer.

First try : 20 points

Second try : 18 points
Third try : 16 points

V. ASSIGNMENT
Cut-out 3 pictures for each phase of matter. Paste it on your notebook.
