INTRODUCTION

WHAT’S IN THIS MANUAL

This manual describes the operating features of the FT7000XP ATM. The setup and operating procedures
given in this manual are generally applicable to any FT7000XP PC-based ATM. If your ATM does not have
the ability to perform some of the features described in this manual, it may be your processor does not
support those features.

PC-BASED MODELS
The PC-based units consist of Models RL5000XP, FT5000XP, and FT7000XP operating on Microsoft® Win-
dows® XP application. Furthermore, Triton’s Prism™ ATM software provides banks with a simple HTML
interface. This revolutionary configuration offers vendors independence through XFS and makes possible
a long list of revenue generating value-added services.
The FT7000XP is a rear-access machine meaning access to the dispensing unit is at the rear (inside facility).
The FT7000XP units (Business Hours and Level 1) are equipped with a Fujitsu F510 multi-cassette dispenser
mechanism capable of dispensing currency and non-currency items (stamps, coupons, etc) from up to four
(4) cassettes, configurable. An optional NMD-100 multi-cassette dispenser will be offered in the Level 1
cabinet only.

CLASS OF SERVICE (BUSINESS HOURS-VS-LEVEL 1)

The standard FT7000XP cabinet is a UL291 certified Level 1 vault providing additional security and the
ability to store currency during non-business hours. An optional UL291 Business Hours (2 door) cabinet
is also available. The Business Hours cabinet means that the currency should be removed from the
dispenser and stored in a safe location when the business is closed to the public.

OPERATING SYSTEM
The PC-based platform uses Intel® Socket 478 processor - Celeron D (standard) and Pentium IV (optional)
and Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system, a robust technological design that provides increased
stability and improved speed while maintaining reliability and low cost of ownership. When outfitted with
Triton’s Prism™ open platform software, the FT7000XP is fully compliant with optional emulation support
assuring seamless integration into your current network. Emulation support is also available for both
Diebold 912 and NCR NDC+.
Triton’s Prism software provides financial institutions with a simple HTML interface for customized screen
content. As a result, you can cost effectively develop new Web services and deploy them easily across
your entire network.

PLATFORM AND INTERNET

The world wide web has created new opportunities for delivering financial services. By taking advantage of
advances in processors, software standards, and customer requests for ever-increasing sophistication,
Triton has set the standard in ATM features and performance with the FT7000XP ATM that feature Win-
dows based ATM applications and Internet compatibility. The Windows-based application is standard on
the FT7000XP. By building the ATM application software to run under the Windows XP operating system,
Triton offers truly open-ended, object oriented, software and hardware architecture from which to develop
and deliver new features and functions.
These new open-ended solutions can take advantage of advances in telecommunications and, at the same
time, tap into the vast opportunities of the Internet and Web-based applications. In addition, financial
institutions can conceivably run commercially available software on an ATM. A financial institution can
also connect its ATMs to their central server where they may select which bank services to deliver to
selectively located ATMs. In addition, they may tie into their central data warehouse to deliver targeted
marketing messages and personalized service directly to their consumers at the ATM.
The software architecture preserves current legacy systems while providing a bridge to new technology
advantages. With this approach, Triton protects your investment in current and future ATMs.
In addition, because transactions can be performed from a centralized database, the bank can consolidate
alternative delivery of banking services and, at the same time, realize economies of scale by developing
applications which offer a consistent look and feel whether accessed at an ATM or on a home computer.

The FT7000XP has a large 15" color display with graphics and easy-to-read text. An optional voice
guidance unit can play messages from a library of pre-recorded messages to help consumers use the ATM.
A financial institution can offer consumers a choice of languages for consumer displays and voice guid-
ance messages.
For maximum security, the ATMs operate on line under the control of a host computer or central controller.
The communication interface supports the TCP/IP and SNA/SDLC communication protocols. The host
controls the transaction sequences through configuration control parameters and screen libraries loaded
into the ATM before normal operation begins. Typically, the host downloads the parameters and libraries
to the ATM over communication lines in a series of messages. The Configuration toolset can be used to
develop configuration data and screen libraries on a personal computer and create files to load into the
ATM.

STANDARD FEATURES

Standard features of the FT7000XP ATM are summarized in the following paragraphs.

ACCESS AND TRANSACTION SECURITY

Password-Controlled Access.
Access to the ATM’s Management Functions is protected by a password-based access scheme. The ATM
provides a “Master” password level of access and a flexible system of “User-level” passwords. The master
password provides full access to the ATM’s Management Functions, while User-level passwords provide
access to a subset of those functions, as determined by the holder of the master password.

Encrypting PIN Pad (EPP)

An Encrypting PIN Pad (EPP) is an encryption system that offers additional protection for the customer PIN
during entry at the ATM keypad. The EPP is compliant with all international encryption standards, Triple
DES, and Visa® requirements.

5
M ODEL FT7000XP U SER M ANUAL
MULTIMEDIA INTERFACE (AUDIO/VIDEO)
The ATM’s XGA color display can display text and graphical content in a wide range of colors, providing
an interesting and dynamic experience to the customer. In addition, graphics can be printed on receipts.
Supported multimedia features include: Receipt Graphics and Audio Output.

Receipt Printer Graphics

The thermal printer is capable of printing high resolution graphics when driven by appropriate software.
Like ad screen graphics, receipt graphics are usually downloaded to the terminal via the host processor.
Audio Output
The integrated speakers enhance the media experience by offering audio output of voice and/or music
content.

STORAGE OF FILES
The ATM can store management reports, such as the results of close operations or diagnostic tests.
Graphics files are stored and retrieved from the internal hard disk. You may also save reports to an external
memory device.

VOICE-ENABLED TRANSACTIONS
The ATM is capable of providing voice feedback to sight-impaired users, when configured and enabled. By
plugging a set of headphones into the integrated headphone jack, users can receive spoken assistance as
they perform a transaction.

COMMUNICATIONS
The FT7000XP supports communication with the transaction processor using a variety of communications
technologies. These include TCP/IP (standard) and SNA/SDLC lease line (optional).

TCP/IP (Ethernet)
This method is used in applications where a central Local Area Network, or LAN, is used to connect multiple
ATMs to a central server. The ATM can be treated as either a client or server on the network, while the host
provides the interface to a transaction processing system.

SNA/SDLC
Systems Network Architecture/Synchronous Data Link Control (SNA/SDLC) is IBM’s version of bit-oriented
protocol. SDLC is the link level protocol and SNA provides the intelligence for the connection. SNA and
SDLC use a series of commands to control the flow of data through the network

6
I NTRODUCTION
ELECTRONIC JOURNAL
The ATM stores transaction records, status, and other activity data in a journal record that is stored in the
ATM’s PC hard drive. The number of journal entries that can be stored is only limited by how much memory
is available on the hard drive.
This information can be retrieved at a later date. When needed, just the information desired can be recalled
and a printout of those records can be made. Journal entries may be viewed, printed, saved, and archived to
the terminal hard drive or to an external memory device.

TERMINAL SETTLEMENT
A suite of close functions are provided to facilitate daily balancing of the ATM’s internal record of transac-
tion activity with the processor’s transaction records.

MULTI-LANGUAGE SUPPORT
The ATM has a screen language option. At the option of the financial institution, allows the terminal user
to select a preferred language (such as Spanish or French) to conduct a transaction (host .

MESSAGES
These are informational messages that give important information to the customer before, during, and after
a transaction. At the option of the financial institution, messages can be locally customized to meet local
requirements. They include greeting and exit messages, terminal owner and surcharge owner identification,
marketing messages, and news tickers.
TRANSACTION AND ACCOUNT TYPE CONFIGURATION
This feature (at the option of the financial institution) selects the types of transactions (transfers or balance
inquiries) or accounts (e.g. savings or credit card) that will be presented to the customer. This feature does
not affect the availability of checking account withdrawal transactions, which are always presented.

REAR SERVICE PANEL (RSP)

The RSP provides convenient user-access to most Management functions from inside the facility. It also
provides easy access to the dispensing mechanism, envelope depository unit, loading receipt paper, and
terminal shutdown.

MENU-BASED OPERATION

The terminal operates as a menu driven system. Messages and menu options presented on the LCD display
screen guide the user’s actions. The desired menu option is selected by pressing one of the screen keys
located to the left and right of the display. For the purpose of security, many screens timeout after a preset
time interval. The timeout length may vary depending on the function being performed.

When a screen timeout occurs, a screen is presented which asks the user if more time is needed. If the user
chooses NO, the Customer Welcome screen will be presented. If YES is chosen, the user is returned to the
function that was active prior to the timeout. If the user does not make a selection within an additional 30-
second countdown period the terminal will automatically go to the Customer Welcome screen.
Shortly after the unit is turned on, the top menu will be displayed. An example top menu is shown in Figure
2-7. From the top menu, you can either:

" Activate the terminal to perform customer transactions by pressing the key next to Customer Transaction.

" Enter the terminal system management area by pressing the key next to Management Functions.

If you do not select a menu choice within 30 seconds the terminal will automatically default to the Customer
Welcome screen (a benefit of this feature is that in the event of a power interruption the terminal will
automatically begin accepting customer transactions shortly after power is restored).

VOICE-ENABLED TRANSACTIONS

The terminal provides voice feedback via an integrated output jack, enabling sight-impaired users to plug
in a set of headphones and receive spoken instructions to assist them in using the ATM. Figure 2-8,
headphone jack location, shows the location of the headphone jack on the FT7000XP.

Figure 2-8. Headphone jack location.

Raised symbols helps a user locate the headphone jack. The ATM will automatically detect when a head-
phone has been plugged into the jack, and will immediately switch into voice mode. Initially, a brief spoken
tutorial will orientate the customer to the ATM control panel interface. Once the customer begins a transac-
tion, spoken prompts will provide feedback and guide the customer through the successful accomplish-
ment of the transaction.

SECTION 3
REPLENISHING CASSETTES

NMD-100

17
M ODEL FT7000 XP U SER M ANUAL

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this section of the manual is to describe the procedures for: (1) removing and replacing note
cassettes, (2) loading cassettes, and (3) removing and replacing the reject notes (as applicable). Information
concerning note handling and quality issues are explained where appropriate.

DISPENSING MECHANISMS

The FT7000XP ATM uses a Fujitsu® F510 friction-fed dispensing mechanism to store and deliver notes and
other media to the customer. This dispenser is standard in Business Hours and Level 1 units. An optional
NMD-100 is available in Level 1 units only. The mechanisms are located in the lower-right area of the
security container of the unit. It holds multiple cassettes and has an integrated reject bin.
FUJITSU F510: The note capacity for the Fujitsu cassettes is approximately 2250 (used). The maximum
number of notes that can be dispensed during a single transaction is forty (50). The dispenser holds
multiple cassettes (max 4) and has an integrated reject area.
NMD-100: The note capacity for the NMD-100 cassettes is approximately 2750 (used). The maximum
number of notes that can be dispensed during a single transaction is fifty (50). The dispenser holds multiple
cassettes (max 4) and has a dedicated reject cassette.
The dispensing mechanism delivers the appropriate number of notes from the note cassettes to fulfill the
customer’s withdrawal request. The purpose of the reject area/cassette is to accept and hold notes that
have been transferred from the note cassettes but not dispensed. Some situations that could cause the
mechanism to reject notes are:
! Multiple notes stuck together
! Note width too short or long
! Notes skewed in feed path
! Notes too close together in feed path
! Notes not claimed by customer
The mechanism(s) is able to reject single notes or bundles. A bundle reject occurs when more than one note
is rejected at the same time.
FUJITSU 510: The reject area is located in the first (1st) cassette (top). The reject compartment can hold
approximately 150 notes.
NMD-100: The reject cassette has two (2) compartments within the cassette. The top compartment can
hold 250 bundle notes; the lower compartment can hold up to 100 single-note rejects.

**CAUTION**
DO NOT RECYCLE REJECTED NOTES INTO A CASSETTE!
Doing so could cause more rejects and/or currency jams.

18
REPLENISHING CASSETTES

NOTE CONDITION
The number of rejects can be directly influenced by the technique used to load the cassettes and the quality
of the currency. Notes loaded into the mechanism cassettes must be in “fit” condition if a high level of
performance (low reject and failure rate) is expected from the unit. “Fit” notes are defined as those that do
not possess any of the defects listed here:
USED NOTE DEFECTS
! Adhesive or “sticky” substances on the surface of the paper.
! Tears extending more than 1/2” from the edge of the currency.
! Tears, holes, or missing sections in the body of the currency.
! Tape on the surface of the currency used for repairing, patching or any other purpose.
! Staples, pins, or any other foreign body attached to the notes.
! Corner folds of a size greater than 1/2” on either axis.
! Two or more notes joined by any means.
! Excessively crumpled or crinkled.

PREPARING NOTES
Use the following procedures to prepare notes before inserting them into a note cassette.
PREPARING USED NOTES
! Remove the band around each bundle of notes.
! Remove foreign objects (e.g. pins, paper clips, crumbs,
etc.).
! Remove torn or very worn notes.

! Straighten any folded notes.

Figure 3-1. Removing Figure 3-2. Removing
band. torn/worn notes.

NEW OR UNCIRCULATED NOTES

Remove the band around each bundle of notes. Separate the notes from each other by:
! Striking the bundle hard against the edge of a table or similar object.
! Flipping through each bundle of notes in both directions at each end.
! Using a note counter.

Figure 3-7. Move pressure plate to rear. Figure 3-8. Plate latched to rear.

LOADING / INSTALLING NOTE CASSETTE:

1. Remove any rejected notes from the reject area. Note: Only the TOP cassette accepts rejects.
! Before loading the cassette with currency:
The shape of some notes may be affected by conditions of storage or bundling, preventing them from
forming neat even piles. If not corrected, such conditions may cause notes to be rejected by the
dispensing mechanism. To compensate for the most common conditions of slanting or cupped note
piles, follow the directions given here. Notes with no apparent shape problems are referred to as
“common” notes.
• Slanting pile
To avoid dispensing problems caused by a “slanting” pile, put the notes in neat bundles of no more than ½
to ¾ inches in thickness. Turn every other bundle around to minimize slanting of the pile.

• Cupped bundle
To avoid dispensing problems caused by cupped bundles, turn all the bundles with the cupped side
towards the dispense opening.

• Common notes
Place the prepared bundles in the cassette.

21
M ODEL FT7000 XP U SER M ANUAL
2. Align the notes and load them in the cassette. Level the note pile. Compress the note pile slightly by
hand. Single notes must not protrude from the bundle.
3. Move the pusher plate against the notes with just enough pressure to hold the notes in the correct
position.

Figure 3-9. Align/level note pile. Figure 3-10. Move pressure plate against notes.

4. Fold the cassette lid down to its locked position. Insert the cassette back into the mechanism. Ensure
the cassette is pushed all the way back in the cassette channel.

* IMPORTANT *
BEFORE INSERTING CASSETTES IN THE FEED CHAN-
NELS, ENSURE THE OPEN/CLOSE TAB (LOCATED IN
EACH CHANNEL) IS IN THE “CLOSE” POSITION. THE
TAB SHOULD BE IN THE POSITION SHOWN BELOW. IF
NOT, BILL FEED ERRORS WILL OCCUR!

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

CLEANING THE ENCLOSURE

The ATM front panel/trim is highly durable, resisting scratches and finger smudges. However, occasional
cleaning of the front panel and the plastic enclosure may be desirable. A soft dry or slightly damp cloth may
be used for cleaning. For best results, use a weak solution of a mild detergent and water.

** CAUTION **
Avoid using abrasive cleaners on
any surface of the terminal. Do
not spray liquid cleaner directly
on the unit.

CLEANING THE DISPLAY

The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) on the front of the ATM has a glass protective shield that should be
cleaned only with a soft lint free cloth, dampened with a weak solution of a mild detergent and water.

** CAUTION **
Do not use any abrasive cleaners
on the window, as it will scratch.
Do not spray liquids onto the
screen, as they may run down in-
side the unit and cause damage.

CARD READER CLEANING

Special cleaning cards (P/N 06200-00055) are available for proper maintenance of the card reader. The reader
should be cleaned at least once a month by inserting and removing a cleaning card as shown below. It may
be necessary to clean the card reader more often in locations that see heavy usage.

1. Remove the cleaning card from the sealed pouch.

2. Insert the cleaning card into the card reader and move in and out
several times.
3. Remove the cleaning card and turn over to use other side.
4. Insert again several times.
5. Remove cleaning card and discard.

INTRODUCTION
This section describes the Management Functions available running Prism 912 emulation controlling the
ATM.

WHAT IS PRISM 912-EMULATION

Prism offers true, open-ended, object-oriented architecture using industry standard Microsoft® development
tools. The unique software design and integrated Web browser enables Prism to be plug compatible with
existing ATM processor networks without changes to the existing host system. The Prism application can
operate in an ATM network, alongside standard OS/2-based ATMs, without any host changes. But it is
more than a standalone application. Prism application is also flexible and can be customized at all levels.
Prism liberates ATM content from the rigid and expensive development requirements of proprietary systems.
Specialty services, advertising and cross selling are easy to implement with Prism, allowing FI’s to extend
the same brand differentiation used in branches and on FI’s Web site to the ATM channel. The following
summarizes the features and benefits of the Prism application:
SEAMLESS INTEGRATION

· Prism is ‘plug-and-play’ in today’s 912 ATM network - without changes to existing host download
and ATM infrastructure
· Provides concurrent support of legacy 912 transactions and content from a web-server without
host changes.
· Compatible with all major ATM Protocols – TCP/IP and SNA/SDLC communications.
· All application software is industry standard MS Windows compliant with CEN-XFS universal
standards.
· Prism permits the financial institutions to implement web technology without any disruption to
existing ATM operations or back-end changes.

INVESTMENT PROTECTION

· Prism (under Fujitsu) was certified on all major ATM networks in North America
· Prism is transparent to the ATM driving platform and easily transportable to a new host ATM
device driver without any re-programming or vendor intervention.
· Fully preserves the financial institution’s investment in technology.
• Prism allows the FI to convert 912 screens into HTML format preventing any additional resource
burden or vendors’ Professional Services intervention.
· Prism is multi-vendor capable.

MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

WHAT IS MEANT BY A “WINDOWS-BASED” ATM?

The current ATM environment is still one that is largely driven in a Diebold® or NCR® emulation environment
that uses traditional “states and screens” – command sets. The host processor sends “states and screens”
to the ATM and which the ATM uses to build transaction requests and display content to its user. With
that in mind, we define a “Windows driven” ATM as one which runs on the Microsoft® Windows® XP
operating system platform; communicates using the TCP/IP communications protocol, or a combination of
TCP/IP and another protocol such as SNA when used in conjunction with a legacy transaction processing
emulation such as 912; takes advantage of Web technologies, including an industry standard browser
(Internet Explorer) and HTML Web page and development tools which, used together, accurately represent
as well as enhance the current states and screens methodology; is powered by an underlying ATM software
application such as Prism that builds a new, content-rich HTML-based graphical user interface.

Working together, these characteristics enable new types of enhanced services that lower cost, increase
brand reach, extend online banking capabilities and grow new revenue streams. It is important to keep in
mind, however, that while Web-enabled ATMs deploy Web technologies, they are neither designed nor
intended for use as a Web surfing device.

WHAT DIFFERENTIATES THE WINDOWS-BASED ATM FROM ITS PREDECESSOR?

Windows based ATMs are the new generation of ATMs that are broadly distinct from their predecessors in
the technology they use and the business benefits they can deliver.
In an increasingly competitive retail banking market, OS/2 based ATMs no longer meet the changing
competitive and regulatory requirements that challenge today’s financial institutions. Windows-based
ATMs promise to dramatically alter the role of ATMs in the delivery of banking products and services, and
ultimately in the relationship between financial institutions and their ATM customers.

XP PRISM SOFTWARE ARCHITECTURE

The above diagram is a high level overview of the Triton ATM software architecture running Prism. The
base operating system is Windows XP Pro and at the low end you have hardware devices with their
firmware that communicate to the WOSA middleware developed by KAL. Prism application conforms to
WOSA-XFS standards. WOSA-XFS allows higher-level applications to communicate with low-level de-
vice drivers. The Triton ATM WOSA-XFS compliant application is developed by KAL. Almost all other
ATM vendors in the industry use KAL middleware for their application. On top of that we have the Prism
application to perform 912 emulation and Web transactions. At the core of all this is the Internet Explorer
browser that is used to display all screen content in HTML format. The same browser is also used to
display host download text data to the consumer. This is where Prism application integrates both legacy
912 transactions and web-based transactions into a single screen format that is completely transparent to
the end user. This enables FI’s to modify the look and feel of the host transaction screens with engaging
HTML screens.
The 912-emulation defines the format of the messages exchanges between an ATM and the host processor
for processing consumer financial transactions. Prism 912-emulation is based on Diebold® iSeries 912
message standard. Prism conforms to 912 message standards for:
- Screens and States downloads - Operational commands
- Support all Screen 912 screen display functions - Function commands
- 912 operational and message commands, and sta- - Full transaction support
tus messages
- Withdrawal, deposit, balance inquiry…etc
- Support 912 state types

For those FI’s that deploy a Triton ATM with Prism application, there will be no changes required to support
912, provided the FI currently has 912-emulation software running at the host end. It will be a “plug-and-
play” implementation.

MANAGEMENT REPORTS

Many Management Functions, such as Terminal Settlement, Journal, and Diagnostic functions, produce a
report summarizing the results of the operation. Most reports are displayed in a Management Report
dialog, which you can use to print the report to the receipt printer or save to an external memory device.

External Memory Device

Some USB memory devices are not recognized by Windows XP as removable
drives. Consequently, these drives are not recognized within the Prism appli-
cation as an External Memory device. As of this release of the document, only
LEXAR™ brand storage devices are affected.

The buttons on the Management Report dialog let you perform the following actions: (Figure 5-6)

4. Page Up. Scrolls the report up a maximum of one full page.

7. Page Down. Scrolls the report down a maximum of one full page.

52
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

OVERVIEW
ATM settlements generally follow a standard procedure with every network that brings up a terminal running
912-emulation. In 912, settlement transactions are unique by customer and are controlled by the host. The
screens for the settlement will be exactly the same whether it’s an NCR, Diebold, or Triton, as long as all are
doing 912-emulation. A settlement transaction is recognized by the account on the card. The settlement trans-
action and journal entries would then be handled like any other transaction per transaction request and
function commands. The settlement screens are controlled by the host and are vendor independent.

Settlement cards are issued by the Host processor and are usually not given to vendors unless the vendor has
a service agreement with the bank for first-line service. The settlement process varies from one network to the
other. Vendors will have to request a settlement card from the processor. Basically, this is the general proce-
dure:
The bank is given a specific settlement card with a PIN number assigned. How often a bank does a settlement
depends on the bank’s policy; some banks may settle the terminal once a day while others may do it once a
week. Settlement screens are downloaded from the Host along with the rest of the screen configuration data.
The following procedures are performed from the FRONT DISPLAY INITIALLY. After following these
steps, the host settlement process will be always be performed from the REAR DISPLAY.

F RONT D ISPLAY :
! First, enter Management Functions and access TERMINAL SETTLEMENT FUNCTIONS, then select opt-
ion <4>, CONFIGURE REAR SETTLEMENT. The following screen will be displayed.
Select option <1>, CAPTURE SETTLEMENT CARD TRACK DATA.

! The following prompt requires you to insert and remove the settlement card. The track data will be
captured and stored in the terminals PC. You WILL NOT have to scan the the settlement card
again. Press <1> to return to menu.

53
M ODEL FT7000XP U SER M ANUAL

! If you later select option <2>, CLEAR REAR SETTLEMENT TRACK DATA , you will again have to access
the front display to capture the settlement card data.

R EAR D ISPLAY:
! Press the <ALT> and “r” keys on the rear keyboard.
! When prompted, enter the PIN number of the settlement card.
! The Host/Processor settlement screen appears that may have selections for the following:
Note: These options may vary depending on the host.

• BALANCE TO STANDARD AMOUNT - There is a standard amount the bank will always replenish to
regardless of what the current cash is. They replace the current cassette(s) with new cassette(s) loaded with
a standard amount or load cash to a standard amount.
• BALANCE TO CURRENT CASH - By selecting this option (if there is enough cash left in the cassette(s)),
the bank is using the end cash amount from the previous settlement period as the new starting cash amount
for the new settlement period.

54
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

• BALANCE TO NEW START AMOUNT (should be used for initial cassette setups and configuration) - Here
the bank is telling the Host they want to use a new start amount (higher/lower) for the next settlement period.
Note: Typically used for initial cassette setups and configuration.
1. The “New Start Amount” will become the “Standard Amount” for the next settlement period.
2. “Balance to New Start Amount” is typically the settlement method used to initially setup the
terminal.

• PRINT SUB-TOTALS - This is the same as Prism’s settlement function screen. The Host will print what
the terminal dispensed from each cassette.
• MID POINT INCREASE - This option allows the bank to add cash to the existing amount left in the
cassette(s). Note: This is a temporary adjustment that does not change the “Standard Amount”.
• MID POINT DECREASE - This option allows the bank to subtract cash from the existing amount left in
the cassette(s). Note: This is a temporary adjustment that does not change the “Standard Amount”.
Note: Balancing (including Mid point Increases and Decreases) is performed per cassette.
The bank will need to select Print-Sub Totals option to see the current total dispensed amount for each
cassette from the host. They will then need to compare this amount with the totals printed earlier to see if they
match. If the amounts match, they can continue with the balancing. If the totals don’t match, they will have to
investigate using Electronic Journal records to see where the discrepancies are.
The next step depends on what the bank’s preference is. They can select any one of the following options to
balance the terminal to start the next settlement period:
• BALANCE TO STANDARD AMOUNT
• BALANCE TO CURRENT CASH
• BALANCE TO NEW START AMOUNT
After performing one of the above, settlement is complete with the Host/Processor and a new settlement
period begins. Before putting the terminal back in service, they will need to log back into Management
functions and enter TERMINAL SETTLEMENT FUNCTIONS, then CLEAR ATM SETTLEMENT TOTALS.
The vendor can now enter the REPLENISH CASSETTE(S) option to replenish the cassette(s).

REPLENISH CASSETTE(S)
ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS:
1. From the TERMINAL SETTLEMENT FUNCTIONS screen, select the REPLENISH CASSETTE(S) option by press-
ing number <3> on the keypad.

Note: The Fujitsu 510 dispenser does not have the capability to lock/unlock cassettes. Cassette(s) may be
removed/inserted at any time.

DESCRIPTION:

ment:
! A screen warning appears that the time out function normally associated with the Management Func-
tions is disabled. Press <1> to continue.
! A screen will be displayed that all cassette(s) can be removed.

2. From the CASH DISPENSER screen, select the FORCE UNLOCK CASSETTE option by pressing number <4>
on the keypad. Note: This option currently not available.

DESCRIPTION:
The FORCE UNLOCK CASSETTE function provides a means of overriding the NMD-100’s unlocking mechanism
associated with a specific cassette. It is only to be used immediately after failure of a normal cassette unlock
operation.
Occasionally, a condition may occur that prevents a cassette from being removed from the dispensing mecha-
nism. For example, a note that is lodged or jammed in a cassettes’s ‘gate’ could cause such a condition. The
gate is a mechanical shutter on the feed end of a cassette which lowers to allow notes to be dispensed and
raises as a security precaution when the cassette is removed.
During a normal unlocking operation when the gate is closed, the cassette releases an associated mechanical
latch allowing the cassette to be removed from the body of the dispenser. If the gate does not fully close, the
cassette will not release the latch and remains locked in the mechanism.
If you find that a particular cassette can not be removed after performing a normal unlock operation, use this
function first to attempt releasing the applicable cassette from the mechanism.
Once the cassette has been removed from the dispenser, carefully remove any notes that are sticking out of
cassette. Insert the cassette into the dispenser and perform a normal ‘Lock’ operation followed by a normal
‘Unlock’ operation. You may now remove the cassette.

INJECT NEW CASSETTE ID

ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS:
1. From the DIAGNOSTICS screen, select the CASH DISPENSER option by pressing number <1> on the keypad.
2. From the CASH DISPENSER screen, select the INJECT NEW CASSETTE ID option by pressing number <5> on
the keypad.

DESCRIPTION:
The NMD-100 dispensing mechanism uses cassettes that possess onboard memory. This memory enables a
cassette to store its own identification (ID) code.
The INJECT NEW CASSETTE ID function has no direct correlation to the physical position of the cassette within
the unit. In most instances, the cassette identified as “A” will be placed in the top feed channel, “B” in the
second, and continuing. This is not a requirement since the ID code allows the dispensing mechanism (and the
dispensers central controller) to locate the cassette wherever it’s been placed in the dispenser.
This function allows injecting a new ID into a cassette. Insert the cassette you want to ID into the top feed
channel. Press the button corresponding to the identity you want the cassette to have: ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, or ‘D’.
When the ID has successfully been injected, a message prompt will appear. If the operation fails, an error
message will appear.

When using this function you will be prompted to enter the number of the most recently collected records to
be printed. It always operates on the last ‘X’ entries. If an operator needs to see a transaction that happened
about 10 records earlier, entering ‘13’ at the prompt will cause the last 13 records to be printed, but not cleared
from the buffer. This will ensure that the transaction in question is printed.

1. AUTO EXPORT. Allows user to enable/disable a daily journal export file (XML format). If enabled, at
12:00 AM every day, the electronic journal records will automatically create an export file with data from
the previous 24 hours and save it to the ATM in the “C:\Program Files\Prism\Journal” folder. For
example:
EJ_12345678_10062005.xml
12345678 - Terminal number
10062005 - Date (mmddyyyy)
Since the files are in XML format, they can be read with a text editor but preferably XML Notepad. Ideally they
would be imported into an application that could search and display the data records in a sequential and
readable format.

94
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

2. AUTO DELETE. Allows user to enable/disable the automatic deletion settings. When enabled, the
following options are available:

MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

ENTER KEY B
ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS:
1. From the MAIN MENU screen, select the KEY MANAGEMENT option by pressing number <7> on the
keypad.
2. From the KEY MANAGEMENT screen, select the ENTER KEY B option by pressing number <2> on the
keypad.

DESCRIPTION:
The ENTER KEY B option is used as the Master key for a 912-based application. This key is called the COMM
key. The COMM key can be used, in addition to the Master PIN key entered in Key A, for PIN encryption.
Note: This key is host processor specific. If they require a “B” key entry, they must provide those keys (in
addition to the “A” key) to be entered.
Based on 912 settings, the PIN can be optional encrypted using either the Master PIN key or the COMM key,
or both (double-encrypted). Once a COMM key is loaded, the B key is no longer used. Any additional COMM
key downloaded from the host will be encrypted with the current working value of the COMM key. The
COMM key can also be used to encrypt the MAC key when it is loaded.
Optionally, the host can command the ATM to revert the COMM key to the B key originally entered. This
usually occurs when communications is lost and an ATM becomes out of sync with the COMM key. In this
case, the host will command the ATM to revert the COMM key to the original value input as the B key. Once
the host is able to revert to a known starting point, it can reinitiate key exchanges.
To enter the COMM key, follow the procedures used for entering Key A.

* NOTE *
If the host processor DOES NOT require a “B” key, it is still recommended that you enter a string
of numbers as a “Fill” in this field (ex: all ones <1>). It will not affect the key download from the
host.

INTRODUCTION
Prism uses Microsoft WOSA (Windows Open System Architecture) eXtensions for Financial Services (XFS)
to “talk” to peripheral hardware devices (card reader, printer, dispensers, etc).
When a problem occurs with these devices, an error code (WOSA) is sent to the financial institution.
The terminal will also display Triton-specific error codes that most of you are familiar with.
The following tables list both the WOSA and associated Triton error codes.

IN NO EVENT SHALL MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF PROFITS OR INCIDENTAL,
INDIRECT, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ANY
BREACH OF THIS CONTRACT OR OBLIGATIONS UNDER THIS CONTRACT.

DEFENSE OF INFRINGEMENT CLAIMS

If notified promptly in writing of any action (and all prior claims relating to such action) brought against the
Distributor based on a claim that Distributor’s use of the goods infringes a patent or other intellectual
property right, and if given access by Distributor to any information distributor has regarding such alleged
infringement, Manufacturer agrees to defend Distributor in such action at its expense and will pay any
costs or damages finally awarded against Distributor in any such action, provided the Manufacturer shall
have had sole control of the defense of any such action and all negotiations for its settlement or compro-
mise.

B-2
APPENDIX B - WARRANTY STATEMENT
In the event that a final injunction shall be obtained against the Distributor’s use of the goods or any of their
parts by reason of infringement of a patent or other intellectual property right or if in Manufacturer’s
opinion the goods are likely to become the subject of a claim of infringement of a patent or other intellectual
property right, Manufacturer will, at its option and at its expense, either procure for the Distributor the right
to continue using the goods, replace or modify the same so they become non-infringing or grant the
Distributor a credit for such goods as depreciated and accept their return. The depreciation shall be an
equal amount per year over the lifetime of the goods as established by Manufacturer.

Manufacturer shall not have any liability to the Distributor under any provision of this clause if any
infringement, or claim thereof, is based upon: (i) the use of the goods in combination with other goods or
devices which are not made by Manufacturer; (ii) the use of the goods in practicing any process; (iii) the
furnishing to the Distributor of any information, date, service, or applications assistance; or (iv) the use of
the goods with modifications made by the Distributor. The Distributor shall hold Manufacturer harmless
against any expense, judgment or loss for infringement of any patent or other intellectual property right
which results from Manufacturer’s compliance with the Distributor’s designs, specifications or instruc-
tions. No costs or expenses shall be incurred for the account of Manufacturer without the written consent
of Manufacturer. THE FOREGOING STATES THE ENTIRE LIABILITY OF MANUFACTURER WITH
RESPECT TO INFRINGEMENT OF PATENTS OR OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHT BY
THE GOODS OR ANY PART THEREOF, OR BY THEIR OPERATION.

INTERPRETATION AND OTHER PAROLE EVIDENCE

This writing is intended by the parties as final expression of their agreement and is intended also as a
complete and exclusive statement of the terms of their agreement. No course of prior dealing between the
parties and no usage of the trade shall be relevant to supplement or explain any term used in these terms and
conditions. Acceptance or acquiescence in a course of performance rendered under these terms and
conditions shall not be relevant to determine the meaning of these terms and conditions even though the
accepting or acquiescing party has knowledge of the performance and opportunity for objection. When-
ever a term defined by the Uniform Commercial Code, as adopted in Mississippi, is used in these terms and
conditions, the definition contained in the code is to control.

MODIFICATIONS
These terms and conditions can be modified or rescinded only by writing signed by both the parties or their
duly authorized agents.

WAIVER INEFFECTIVE
No claim or right arising out of or relating to a breach of these terms and conditions can be discharged in
whole or in part by a waiver or renunciation of the claim or right unless the waiver or renunciation is
supported by consideration and is in writing signed by the aggrieved party. Waiver by either Manufacturer
or Distributor of a breach by the other of any provision of these terms and conditions shall not be deemed
a waiver of future compliance therewith, and such provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

B-3
M ODEL FT7000XP U SER MANUAL
STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

APPLICABLE LAW
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the provisions of the
Uniform Commercial Code as adopted by the State of Mississippi.
BANKRUPTCY
In the event of any proceedings, voluntary or involuntary, in bankruptcy or insolvency by or against

the benefit of creditors or of a receiver or of a liquidator, then Manufacturer shall be entitled to cancel any
unfilled part of these terms and conditions without any liability whatsoever.

PARTS ONLY LIMITED MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

XP
Triton Systems of Delaware, Inc. warrants the components of each FT7000 ATM, excluding software and
related documentation, against any defect in materials and/or workmanship for a period of 13 months from
the shipping date. If a component fails due to defects in materials and/or workmanship within the warranty
period, Triton will furnish a new or refurbished component, at its discretion. Triton shall not be responsible
for labor or other costs associated with installing the components and the failed component shall be
returned to Triton at the purchaser’s expense. Triton shall not be responsible for misuse or abuse of a unit
and any attempts to remove or deface the serial number or date code on a unit or any component thereof, or
any attempt to repair a unit or to repair or replace any component by anyone other than a service technician
authorized by Triton shall void this warranty.

Limited Warranty covers normal use. Triton does not warrant or cover damage:
• occurring during shipment of the equipment or components from or to Triton’s facilities;
• caused by accident, impact with other objects, dropping, falls, spilled liquids, or immersion in liquids;
• caused by a disaster such as fire, flood, wind, earthquake, lightning, or other acts of God;
• caused by failure to provide a suitable installation environment for the equipment, including but not
limited to, faulty wiring in the building in which the equipment is installed, installation in a facility with
uncontrolled environmental conditions, failure to provide a dedicated electrical circuit on which the
equipment operates, and/or lack of proper earth grounding for the equipment;

• caused by any other abuse, misuse, mishandling, or misapplication.

Under no circumstances shall Triton or its suppliers be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential
damages based upon breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal
theory. Such damages include, but are not limited to, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of use
of the equipment or any associated equipment, cost of capital, cost of substitute or replacement equipment,
facilities or services, downtime, purchaser’s time, the claims of third parties, including customers, and injury
to property.
B-4
APPENDIX B - WARRANTY STATEMENT

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The warranty stated above is the only warranty applicable to this product. All other warranties, expressed
or implied (including all implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or quality of
service), are hereby disclaimed. No oral or written information, or advice given by Triton, its agents or
employees shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of this warranty.

SHIPPING DAMAGE
All equipment is shipped Free On Board (FOB), Triton’s facilities. The organization or individual who has
purchased the equipment assumes responsibility for the equipment once it leaves Triton’s facilities.

Should your equipment be damaged in the process of shipment or delivery to your place of destination, we
recommend the following course of action:

• If possible, call the shipping company before the driver leaves your delivery site. Make note of the
damage on the “receipt of delivery” paperwork. If this is not possible, call them as soon as possible to
report the damage.
• Take photographs of the damaged packaging prior to opening the boxes. If this is not possible, make
note of key points, such as whether the equipment is on a pallet, if the banding is intact, how the boxes
are damaged, etc. Keep all of the packaging for inspection by the shipping company.

• If you unpack the equipment, take photographs of the damaged equipment. If this is not possible,
make note of the damages.

• You must file a claim with the shipper for shipping damages immediately after reporting the damages.

Should you specify the carrier, we recommend that you explore with this chosen carrier the policies and
procedures regarding shipping damage claims prior to selecting them as your preferred carrier.

If the equipment receives structural damage and is in an un-installable condition, Triton will work with you
to arrange for a replacement unit to be shipped as soon as possible. The purchaser will be billed for the
replacement unit. Triton’s repair technicians will repair the damaged unit after it is returned to our facilities.
We will credit the purchaser’s account for the full purchase price of the damaged unit, minus the cost of
returning the unit to “like new” condition. Under no circumstances does Triton authorize anyone to
complete structural damage repairs in the field. Therefore, we will not ship primary structural parts, such as
a cabinet head or main cabinet body for repair in the field.

AUTHORIZED INSTALLATION AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
Triton utilizes several nationwide and regional authorized third party maintenance providers. Triton recom-
mends all ATMs be installed and serviced by service technicians certified by Triton. This includes autho-
rized third party service technicians and technicians who have been factory trained by Triton to service
ATM equipment. Installation or repairs attempted by unauthorized service technicians may void the
warranty or warranty claims denied on the product.

Please contact Triton’s Technical Services department at (800) 259-6672 for a list of our third party service
providers and/or to obtain information on the requirements and procedures for becoming a certified Triton
service technician.

TRITON’S TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The primary purpose of the Technical Services department is to provide assistance to customers in the
operation, trouble shooting, and repair of equipment manufactured by Triton. A toll-free phone number (1-
800-259-6672) is provided for convenience. The Technical Services department operates to serve our
customers. The staff is trained to follow our policies and procedures to ensure fair and uniform treatment
of all our customers.

AUTOMATED VOICE MAIL SYSTEM

Our goal is to have a ‘live’ person answer 100% of all incoming calls (during regular support hours). On
occasion, however, call loads may exceed the capacity of the staff. When this occurs, an automated voice
mail system will answer the call, indicate to the caller that all Technical Support specialists are busy assist-
ing others, and ask the caller to leave detailed information about the nature of the call.

Should it become necessary to leave a voice mail message, the caller should state:

• their name,

• the organization for which they work,

• the serial number of the equipment they are calling about,

• detailed description of the problem that they are experiencing, and

• phone number where they can be reached, including area code.

As Technical Support specialists become available, they check for voice mail messages and return calls in
the order in which they were received. By providing the information requested in the voice mail, the
technician can be prepared when your call is returned. Triton asks you to be patient if you must leave voice
mail and assures you that your call is important to us and that we will respond promptly.

B-6
APPENDIX B - WARRANTY STATEMENT
CALLS FOR SERVICE OR REPAIR
Calls for service or repair will be accepted from authorized service technicians only. End users must contact
either the sales organization that placed the equipment or an authorized third party service organization to
obtain service. The sections that follow describe the policies and procedures that relate to the repair and
replacement of malfunctioning equipment.

QUESTIONS ON OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT

Technical support is available to owners of Triton equipment and to qualified service personnel. When
calling for help with the configuration or operation of a Triton product, the caller must provide either
positive identification as a service technician or the serial number of a Triton terminal. Technical support is
provided during normal business hours for the life of the product.

When calling for help with an operational problem, please have available information pertaining to the
nature of the trouble. This includes the type of equipment, examples of what is or is not happening, and the
name of the processor that supports your terminal.

All questions pertaining to the settlement of accounts, transaction inquiries, and fund status must be
directed to the processor. Triton does not have access to the information needed to answer questions
relating to specific transactions.

ENTERING THE COMBINATION

The electronic lock combination(s) consists of six digits. Upon arrival, the combination(s) of the lock
should already be set at 1-2-3-4-5-6. After installation of the unit has been completed, perform the follow-
ing steps:
1. Enter the preset combination(s) and check for proper operation. After each keypress, the lock will
beep. After the final digit has been entered, the lock will beep twice and the open period will begin.
2. Within four (4) seconds, turn the keypad clockwise to the open position.
3. After the lock is opened, the door may be opened.
Invalid Code Entry - Lock will beep three (3) times.

CHANGING THE COMBINATION

* IMPORTANT *
ALWAYS PERFORM THIS OPERATION WITH THE DOOR OPEN.
If your unit is programmed for Dual Code (see PROGRAMMABLE FEATURES), each code must be changed
independently. Follow these instructions for each code change.

To change the combination of the lock, simply follow these directions.

1. Enter six (6) zeros.
2. Enter the current combination (initially set at 1-2-3-4-5-6).
3. Enter the new six (6) digit combination twice.
- If a mistake is made, wait thirty (30) seconds and repeat the first 3 steps.
4. Test lock combination several times before closing the door. The combination is now changed.
Valid Code Entry - Double signal after valid six (6) digit code is entered.
Invalid Code Entry - Triple signal and old code is still valid.

LOCKOUT FEATURE
The lock includes a WRONG TRY PENALTY lockout feature that prevents entry from unauthorized per-
sonnel. This feature performs as follows:

• Entry of four (4) consecutive invalid combinations starts a 5-minute delay period.
- LED flashes RED at ten (10) second intervals.

• At the end of the delay period, two (2) more consecutive invalid combinations will restart an additional
5-minute delay. Entry will not respond to a single keystroke during delay period.

C-2
APPENDIX C - ELECTRONIC LOCK

PROGRAMMABLE FEATURES
The locks are initially set with the standard features (a single 6-digit code). Based on your requirements,
additional features may be added in the lock, BUT THEY MUST BE PRE-PROGRAMMED by Triton prior

BATTERY LOW WARNING

Repeated beeping during an opening indicates that the battery is low and needs to be replaced. Recommend
replacement of battery at least once annually. The battery box is located on the inside of the door.
Note: If the lock will not operate (i.e. repeated beeping or no beeping) while the door is closed and locked, the
battery must be energized from the two external terminals on the front of the push-button panel.

To energize the lock, connect a 9-volt alkaline battery on the external terminal points. Maintain contact, enter
a valid combination, and turn the dial clockwise to open the lock.
Note: You must maintain battery contact at all times throughout this procedure.
