Notes
This pattern is worked in a spiral, so please mark the last stitch of each round with a stitch marker or a safety

an adjustable loop, etc. The tail from the ring should be tightened, sewn into the piece and cut.

R1: sc6 into a ring (6).

R2: inc6 (12).
R3: (sc1, inc1) repeat 6 times (18).
R4: (sc2, inc1) repeat 6 times (24).
R5: (sc3, inc1) repeat 6 times (30).

Note: fasten off one circle but do not do it for

another. You are going to make the first arm now.

Put circles together with wrong sides and join them
with markers. Mark every 6th st of both circles with a
marker. Now you have 5 markers around and 5 sts of
each circle between any pair of the markers [photo 1].

The First Arm

R1: join circles with dec into marked pair of sts

[photo 2] and mark them again so you won't miss
them the second time; sc 5 into sts of one circle; join
circles with dec into another marked pair of sts, mark
them again; sc 5 into sts of another circle. Now you
have 12 sts around for an arm.

R3: (dec1, sc3) repeat 2 times (8).
R4: (dec1, sc2) repeat 2 times (6).

Make dec1, sl st and fasten off leaving a long tail for

sewing. Now you should have something similar to
photo 3.

Other Arms (make 4)

Note: stuff the star before you make the last arm.
Stuff the last arm after R3.

Make a slip knot. Begin at the arm you have already

made with its tip pointed towards you [photo 4].

R1: join circles with dec into marked pair of sts (you
can mark this dec, it is hard to spot it at the beginning
of R2), sc 5 into sts of one circle; join circles with dec
into another marked pair of sts, mark them again; sc 5
into sts of another circle.
