1.0 Purpose

This method statement generally described the procedures and scope of works for a
steel trusses installation located at Lorong Bistari 7 (20.4m), Jalan Jurutera (22.5m)
and Jalan Jurutera (25.0m) .

2.0 Scope of Work

The works to be carried out comprise of steel trusses delivery and on site installation
at the proposed location.

All works shall comply with the requirement of Local Authorities. The contractor shall
execute the works in strict conformity and shall arrange for the necessary formalities
to be complied with.

3.0 Preparation of Works

3.1 Preliminaries

Prior to commencement of the steel truss installation, the work shall be

carried out including:-
i. Ensure that the method procedures for steel truss installation was
submitted and approved by the consultant and Air Selangor.

ii. RC pipe support should be construct and completed with wall plug standby
for steel truss installation.

iii. A further notice for a road closure during the steel truss installation should
be distribute to the nearby residents.

3.2 Traffic Control System

i. All the signboard and safety equipment shall be ready and comply with
the requirement of the authorities and clients.
ii. Flagman provided on site shall be incharged to control traffic flow and
signboards to be used during physical work on site.

3.3 Site Safety and Workers Safety

i. All safety requirements as required will be followed strictly. All standard

procedure will be submitted and monitored by the site head in charge.
ii. Prior to starting of physical work, toolbox meeting with the emphasize of
safety aspect will be conducted everyday on site.
iii. Overall site condition will be strictly placed with safety sign, safety cone,
barriers and flag man as to prevent difficulty to the traffics.

4.2 Steel Trusses Installation Procedure

i. Steel trusses will be fabricated at our supplier factory located at Tanjong

Karang

ii. A welding inspection will be conduct by a third party appointed by contractor

iii. 3 layer of paint will be applied onto the steel trusses after a welding works
have been approved

iv. Wall plug will be installed into the pipe support at site before the delivery of
steel trusses.

v. Steel trusses would be deliver to site and a proposed MS pipe would be weld
onto it.

vi. After that, the steel trusses would be lift using a mobile crane and put onto the
concrete pipe support.

5.0 SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

5.1 Safety

i. Safety tool box meeting shall be conducted before start work to remind
workers about concerning the safety.
ii. All workers shall provide with proper Personal Protective Equipement (PPE)
and shall be worn every time they are entering the site.
iii. Permit to work (PTW) shall valid for working on site.
iv. Safety Supervisor shall ensure that the activity shall carry out in a safe
manner.
v. Proper and adequate provision of temporary signage’s and barricade at
working area.

5.2 Environment

i. All workers shall educate on good environmental management practices and

well-disciplined to environment.
ii. All workers shall ensure that all tools and equipment machinery are in good
condition to avoid any oil leakage that could harm to environment.
iii. Safety Supervisor shall ensure that no open burning of construction or
domestic wastes is practiced.
iv. All workers shall ensure to do housekeeping and road clearing after all the
works completed on site.
