Topic: “Resolving the Multinational Scandal at the New Cairo 2036 Summer Olympic
Games”
Aware of the possibility that there is no cheating going on and that the athletes are not
making too much of a fuss,
Bearing in mind that similar cases have happened in the past, such as the 2002 Winter
Olympics scandal and the Boris Onischenko case in 1976,
Keeping in mind that scandals in women sports at the Olympics aren’t “normal” and are not
often reported,
1- Reminds that some of countries may have lost opportunities to win medals and were
harmed unfairly because of possible cheating;
3- Emphasizes that 2 athletes in the podium had the same nationality as 2 of the judges
meaning that;
a) There’s a chance of partiality and influence in the final result.
4- Declares that such cases are less common in women's sports, meaning that;
a) The IOC should launch an investigation so those things never happen again;
b) Have investigations in all paralympics, summer olympics and winter olympics so if
there’s one scandal, the IOC will know.
5 Reaffirms that all judges and athletes have affirmed they are open to be investigated,
meaning that;
a) An investigation should not be a problem from the judges’ and athletes’ point of view.
6.
6- Requests that, in further competitions, the chosen judges should;
a) Be from nationalities that have no athletes involved in that stage/phase;
b) Not have any previous history of reports or investigations with the IOC.
c) Be someone everybody knows is reliable.
7- Reaffirms that the result could not have necessarily been affected by human fault;
a) It could have happened because of a technical problem in the scoring system.
8- Decides that if the scandal is proven to be true, all guilty judges and personnel should;
a) Be life-time banned from any Olympic category or competition.
9. if the investigation will be a investigation that will cost a lot of money, the investigation needs
to be a very deep and good investigation, to all of the money that will cost, will be a inteligent
investment.
10. Every competition that we have question or problems to see who wins that can create a
scandal they need directaly to start a investigation so it can be resolve the problem and maybe
prevent the scandal.
11. Create a special committee inside the IOC to exclusively take care of the investigation, in
order to;
a) Have a more specific and accurate investigation;
b) Not waste time of the IOC as a whole so it would not affect;
i.) The preparation for the 2038 Winter Olympics and 2040 Summer Olympics.
c) Not waste too much money from the IOC, given that;
i.) This special committee would have a certain amount of money to be used on the
investigation, meaning they wouldn't be able to spend more than the funds they would receive.
