Instructional Planning: Determining the Nature of Instructional Planning

Interview your cooperating teacher. List down five (5) preparation tips being done by the teacher in
planning for successful classroom instruction.

1. Establish clear objectives.

2. Design differentiated instructions and activities that will meet the lesson objectives.

3. Plan lessons with your students in mind.

4. Actively engage the students.

5. As the students do the tasks or activities, roam around the classroom to check if they are keeping on
track with what they are supposed to be doing.

With your cooperating teacher's help, determine how many minutes or hours your cooperating teacher
prepares the following elements of instructional planning.

1. How many minutes or hours does your cooperating teacher take to prepare a lesson plan? Why
does it take your cooperating teacher that long?
Answer: For every lesson, it will take about 2-3 hours to prepare the lesson plan because everything
that will be included there must reach the target or the desired goals of your objectives. Because
there's an instance that your plans will not integrate or meet the goals of the lesson. It is a crucial part
as a teacher to take time when you are preparing a lesson, and materials needed and to review the
lesson as well. To make a lesson plan more effective, precise, and accurate.

2. How many minutes or hours does your cooperating teacher prepare the learning activities for
effective instruction? Why does it take your cooperating teacher that long?
Answer: It is not that hard to cope with that activity about the lesson being discussed by the teacher. It
takes at least 20-30 minutes as long as you have the material.
3. How many minutes or hours does your cooperating teacher take to prepare the presentation needed?
Why does it take your cooperating teacher that long?
Answer: It takes about 1 to 2 hours to prepare the materials or the presentation needed because you need
to write down your topic or lesson to your cartolina usually in public schools technology base is very
limited here reason why we still had to do traditional way of preparing the presentation through visual
aids.

1. How will you define instructional planning?


Answer: It is the process of thoroughly designing and organizing activities to effectively teach a
specific topic or concept.

2. Which of the tips on instructional planning is the most difficult to follow? Why do you think so?
Answer: In my thoughts, among the tips on instructional planning the most difficult to follow is to
make a general plan for the year because education is dynamic and constantly evolving and changing.
I think it is difficult to predict the future of education.

3. What will happen if the teacher did not prepare for the classroom instruction?
Answer: Without proper preparation, the teacher may struggle to communicate the lesson objectives,
also it may cause ineffective use of time and may reduce student engagement.

4. Which of the given tips above is the most important? Why?


Answer: For me, the given tips are all important, but I think the most important is to focus on the
goals you hope to accomplish. In everything we do, we always have a goal we want to accomplish as
it creates a roadmap for success, and helps you to track your progress. It also fuels your motivation
and helps you stay committed to the task.

I realized that it’s not easy for a teacher to prepare various lessons before her discussion there are a lot of
things that she has to do before she enters her class. I witnessed to my cooperating teacher how hard to
prepare herself and her materials before she started the discussion in a simple fifty minutes of discussion
teacher took a lot of time for her preparation to give quality and meaningful lessons to the students.

I believe it is essential to have a preparation for the teacher before she makes her lessons. As my
cooperating teacher told me during my field study teacher’s preparation it’s like how you prepare yourself
in your daily routine there is a sequence that you should follow for you to reach your main objectives or
goal. And instructional planning and preparation empower teachers to deliver well-structured, engaging,
and effective lessons that cater to the diverse needs of their students while ensuring the learning
objectives are met.

From now on, I am determined to follow the instructions that were given to me about effective
instructional planning such as writing lesson plans with extra effort and care, because the students are
expecting from you, on what they need to learn and should learn.
