    Current issues in public schools

    Consider the following idea:

    In many cultures nowadays, teenagers are experimenting with alcohol and illegal drugs; the
    reasons for this situation are multiple.

    Write 2 developed paragraphs (6-8 complex sentences in each paragraph). Your paragraphs need
    to have a meaningful topic sentences, proper supporting details, life examples, and concluding
    sentences. Use transition words effectively.

    Paragraph 1: Mention and discuss one reason why young children are experiencing with alcohol
    and illegal drugs.

    Paragraph 2: Mention and discuss a second reason why young children are experiencing with
    alcohol and illegal drugs.

    At the present time, our teenagers are exposed to many risk factors like alcoholism and drug addic-
    tion. There are many reasons why a teenager take the decision to try for fist time these sub-
    stances. One of the most common reasons to teenager experiment with alcohol or drugs is to con-
    nect with their pairs. Young people feel the necessity to be part of something bigger that them-
    selves, like a group of friends: if they see that everyone at their age are drinking alcohol or taking
    drugs, they are going to do the same to experience sense of belonging. For example, I have a lot
    of friend who started drinking at high school, even they didn’t like it, just because they saw our
    classmates doing the same: at the beginning they didn’t enjoy it, however after some time, they
    started drinking by their choice.

    Additionally, tv shows and movies play an important role in teenagers life, showing them how look
    cooler than others. For instance, Netflix has a lot of popular tv shows where young people are the
    main characters living a crazy life where alcohol and drugs are present and normalize it. This kind
    of content are dangerous for kids and teenager because show them a different reality where drugs
    are cool and harmless, even seem looks like they need it to have fun. In conclusion, as parents we
    need to be aware of what kind of content are watching our children and be ready to explain them
    that real life is different and substance abuse is a true risk in our society.
