CHAPTER ONE

1.0 INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT DESIGN

1.1 PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
The project design faces a number of problems, during its work as below;
 Material purchase varied in dimension, quality, quantity, size, and durability.
 Error in measurement and variation, the designed project took longer time to be
completed
 Power blackout that hindered machine operation e.g., lathe, welding, drilling, and
cutting
 Accident also happened in the workshop e.g., cutting size and welding fumes.

1.2 POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS IDENTIFICATION

In the area of study of the project, problem faced have its solution e.g.;
 Doing the correct measurements of length, height, and diameter
 Use protective gears when working in the workshop on the project to prevent
body injuries
 During welding use safety goggles to protect the eyes from ultra-violet rays
 Use of correct material on where necessary
 Ensure you are working on a correct set machine like lathe/milling machine,
drilling machine and welding machine
 The electricity sockets must be put off after use

1.3 SELECT THE MOST SUITABLE SOLUTIONS

 Use correct set machine for proper and accurate work

 Use protective clothing and gears in workshop
 Use correct dimension/inches, mm

1.4 INDENTIFICATION OF THE TASK

The task of trade project identified is roller broom which will make sweeping work
easier and in short time in a house or pavements

CHAPTER FOUR

4.1 EVALUATION

4.2 REPORT ON FUNCTION AND ABILITY OF THE PROJECT

Below are the functions of the trade project [roller broom]

Enhance safety to worker
Utilizes labor in working place

4.3 RECOMMENDATION AND IMPROVEMENT TO BE MADE AND CONCLUSION

I recommend that this project does the best and it should be used in schools, offices, big
institutions and houses in Kenya at large.
The following are improvement to be done
Use of metals that resist heavy load/force
It should be operated manually
It should hold the work firmly

4.4 CONCLUSION

Was concluded that, the designed project will be soon readily in market when approved by
Kenya engineers board.
The trade project was designed for easy operation skills.
