11 (Reuters) - Staff shortages caused by an ongoing strike over wages are


impacting container and car terminals at South Africa's Durban port, one of the
busiest on the continent, a unit of state-owned logistics company Transnet said
on Tuesday.
Transnet, which manages South Africa's freight rail network and ports, declared
force majeure last week after its workers went on strike over a wage dispute.
In an update on its website, Transnet Port Terminals said the strike had impacted
waterside and landside operations at its Durban port, which handles 65% of
South Africa's container volumes.

DJ’S BOUTIQUE

John and Dinah are the proud owners of DJ’s Boutique, situated in Siyabuswa.
They sell affordable shoes for ladies and gentlemen. They also trade imported
shoes and designer jeans. John has a degree in Business Management and his
partner Dinah, has a diploma in Marketing. The demand for their products has
increased so much that they have opened new branches in Witbank and
Nelspruit.
ABC Traders that sold designer jeans in Witbank and Middelburg, has closed
both their branches.
The eMalahleni Municipality introduced the e-tolling system on the route that they
use for business purposes and increased the rates on all properties. The fuel
price increase has increased their transport costs between branches
significantly.
They employed Lungile, a new cashier with no experience. Customers have since
lodged complaints that Lungile treats them unprofessionally
