MOTIVATION:

ACTIVITY 2: SHARE NOW!


 The class will be divided into two group. After dividing the class each group will have a
representative to pick if they will be a fiction or nonfiction group.
Establishing a
purpose for the Instructions: Each group need to give an example title of what they watch or read, base on
lesson what they pick earlier. And each group will be given a two minutes to brainstorm, after
brainstorming they need to share in the class their answer.

 After this activity the teacher will reveal the new topic.
 The topic is about narrative writing and their types.

Character
• The character are the people in the story who drive the plot, are impacted by the plot, or
may even be bystanders to the plot.

• The setting is the location of the events in time and place.
Conflict
• The conflict is the problem that is being resolved. Plots need a moment of tension, which
involves some difficulty that requires resolution.
Plot
• The plot is the thread of events that occur in a story.
Theme
• Most important and least explicit is the theme. What is the moral of the story? What does
the writer intend the reader to understand?

ACTIVITY 4: FIND ME

• The teacher will provide a copy of the story Half a Day, and student need to read. After
reading student need to write the elements of narrative writing.

Instructions: Read the short story entitled “ Half a Day “ after reading, write on ½ sheet of
paper the elements of narrative writing. You will be given 10 minutes to finish that.

Types of Narrative Writing

Novel
• A novel is a long work of narrative fiction published in book form. It often includes a cast of
characters who experience a sequence of events in the story and a narrator who directs the
reader to what’s happening in the plot.

• The short story is a brief narrative work that includes the main elements of a story but in a

characters. They are often told to children, although some of the early fairy tales included dark
themes and scary elements.
Autobiography
• An autobiography is the story of a person’s life, told in the first person. It shares some
similarities with a personal essay, although it’s usually longer than an essay. Although the work
is nonfiction, it can take on the narrative form as it tells the story of the writer’s life.
