    Who is a leader?
    A leader is a person who influences a group of people towards the
    achievement of a goal; thus, leadership is a process whereby an
    individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.
    3 facts to note about leadership

    • Leaders are not born, they are made.

    • Leaders are not bosses, they are influencers.

    • Leadership is not about position, it is about service and


    responsibility.
    Why do we need leaders?
    • Leaders make life better by choosing the right choices for us without
    them we would be disorganized people.
    • We need leaders because they fight for peoples rights.

    I have a dream
    Two types of leadership:
    Good leadership
    Leader?
    THEORIES OF LEADERSHIP
    3 theories would be discussed using the 3-letter Acronym PET:
    • PERSONALITY theory: Some personality traits may lead people naturally into
    leadership roles. This is the Trait Theory.

    • EVENTS theory: A crisis or important event may cause a person to rise to the
    occasion, which brings out extraordinary leadership qualities in an ordinary
    person.

    • TRANSFORMATIONAL theory: People can choose to become leaders.


    People can learn leadership skills. This is the Transformational or Process
    Leadership Theory. It is the most widely accepted theory today and the premise on
    which this guide is based.
    So, who can be a leader?
    • According to the transformational theory:

    • Ability to Inspire (Motivation Skills)

    FIVE D’s OF GOOD LEADERSHIP.
    • Determination: focused and on point no matter what.

    • Discipline: principled, self tamed and moderately self willed.

    • Diligence: hard working, consistent and committed.

    • Dignity: honest, having high self-esteem, self worth, and integrity,


    altruistic.

    • Duty: taking responsibility.


    PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LEADER
    • A good leader has an exemplary character. A leader must be
    trustworthy and humble enough to lead others.
    • A good leader must be Passionate about his/her work or cause.
    • A good leader must be confident. Only confident people can instill
    confidence into others.
    • A good leader must be responsible; taking responsibilities.
    • A good leader must be a critical thinker.
    • A leader must be organised. Must be a planner.
    • A good leader must be flexible
    • A good leader must be tolerant.
    • A good leader must be hardworking.
    Conclusion
    • Leadership is an act of service. It requires selflessness.
    ALLAH
    The fear of Allah is at the foundation of every correct leadership.
    The fear of the Allah is the beginning of wisdom,).
