Gathering information is one of the critical stages of conducting a
research project. There are many types of information depending on the
intended audiences and purposes. After you identified the type of information
that matches your purpose and intended audience, you need to verify the
credibility of the information. Credible information is evidence-based, peer-
reviewed, and relevant. It should provide the sources and references used in
presenting arguments to verify accuracy. As you progress in your learning and
in life, you need to be able to distinguish truthful, evidence-based, and
relevant information from fake or misleading information.
