My Dream A Dream
A Dream
When i was born, my first thought was that if humanity was to take care of me, I
should be obligated to take care of humanity. I ve always wanted to take care of
everyone around me but sadly as time went by I realized that that would not be
possible. I grew up with stories of my country, and how its own people would kill each
other every day jus for the fun of it. I never understood why people found the death of
others so amusing but what I did understand was that I wanted to make a difference. I
wanted to change the world ever since I was old enough to speak. I would always
watched out for others and defended those who could not defend themselves. To me,
that s what life is about, helping this world become a better place, even if you have to
do it one person at a time. I left my country when I was five in search of a better home.
My mother came to the U.S. a year before I did, by the time I got sent over she was
already settled down. I remember the first day, the night before had been a rough night,
we didn t sleep much, exhausted we made it to the United states. In the morning we
arrived to my mothers house, It was Christmas Eve, as we walk in there was a huge to in
the living room. I had never seen one so big, at the center of it was a big Christmas
tree and under it were tons of presents. Before that, I didn t even know about Santa. I
had no idea that on Christmas morning all the kids got presents. I was stoked to open all
of them, one by one. I had never seen
Black Wall Street History
Greenwood, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa, was the type of community that African
Americans are still, today, attempting to reclaim and rebuild. Black Wall Street was
modern, majestic, sophisticated and unapologetically Black. Tragically, it was also the
site of one of the bloodiest and most horrendous raceriots (and acts of terrorism) that the
United States has ever experienced.

Today marks ninety two years since as many as 300 African Americans lost their lives
and more than 9,000 were left homeless when the small town was attacked, looted and
literally burned to the ground beginning in 1921. It s impossible, however, to realize
what was lost in Greenwood, which was affectionately known as Black Wall Street.

The Greenwood community seems

Master Cat Essay
There are certain elements that can be found in all trickster tales. One of those
common elements is the appearance of gods, spirits or other supernatural beings such
as fairies or trolls. In the three trickster tales that were assigned, gods spirits and the
supernatural are found. In the African trickster tale about how stories came to be,
How Stories Came to Earth, there is a supernatural element in the form of a god. In
this story, the sky god, Nyame lives high up in the sky, where he keeps all the stories
locked in a box for himself. Nyame is portrayed as a typical god, someone who is
powerful and is to be feared. In the tale, Anansi the spider, attempted to get the stories
from the sky god, but had to pay a price. Now Anansi climbed up hi web to the sky god,
Nyame, to ask for the sky god s stories (40). The sky god, Nyame, is one example of the
supernatural in trickster tales. Another example of the use of the supernatural is found in
the tale, Coyote Steals Fire. Coyote, the main character, was able to read minds, which
was a supernatural talent that gave him advantage, especially when fighting.... Show

The supernatural element in this tale is displayed in the form of a character. This
character is the ogere that Master Cat tricked and eventually ate. The ogere, a mythical
creature in the first place, also has the ability to shapeshift, which classifies as another
supernatural element. Master Cat goes to the ogre s castle in order to gain control of
the castle for his owner. In order to do this, he tricks the ogre into showing off the ogre s
shapeshifting abilities. It has been said, the cat stated, that you have the ability to
transform yourself into any animal at all. I m told that you can, for example, turn
yourself into a lion or an elephant (49). The shapeshifting ogre is another great example
of the supernatural elements that are found in trickster
Persuasive Essay On World Hunger
World Hunger, what is it? Why is it a problem? And what can we do to fix it? Most
United States citizens don t know what it s like to go hungry and without food. We are
a very blessed country. We are so blessed and ungrateful that we manage to waste 165
billion dollars worth of food each year. The U.S. can t even begin to imagine how they
feel. According to the dictionary hungeris the uneasy or painful sensation caused by the
want of food . There are people out there that can t sleep at night because of that feeling.
Starvationvictims are too tired and weak to even know when they re thirsty. They can t
even sense it. They become very dehydrated. Every time they move it starts to become
painful because day by day their muscles are wasting away. Hunger, that feeling, none of
us want to have to experience that. Truth is none of us should have to. Where is world
hunger? Well it s everywhere, but there are a few countries where it s out of hand. Those
countries are India, China, Pakistan, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. Together those countries
have a total number of 440.2 million people undernourished.
Why is there world hunger? There could be many different problems that result to world
hunger. For example it could be poor infrastructure. Poor infrastructure makes it difficult
and sometimes impossible to transport food to areas where there are shortages.
Infrastructure helps develop a country. A couple examples of infrastructure is buildings,
power supplies, and roads. Their
