Public speaking has always been very hard for me, I ve never been the type to stand in
front of an audience and speak or do a presentation. No matter how many times I ve
done presentations I ve always get nervous or shy and always forget what I rehearsed.
In the military I was training Nco, everytime we had a new marine check in to our unit
or are shop. I would be the one to give them and the A presentation on what is expected
of them and also give them information about the unit and our shop. In my opinion the
Marine Corp prepared me for public speaking, especially if you where lower rank and
your senior enlisted would throw you to the wolves and send you up there to give the ...

What do you want to accomplish in this course?
Whether I like it or not I been given the opportunity to talk to large crowds like a
squadron or just a couple of people in the class. My problems have always been the
same getting shy, anxiety, and even sweating. Learn to analyze the size of the audience,
I want to be able to captivate my audience and overall I just need to find the confidence
in myself to do it.
How would you plan to improve weak areas to accomplish your goals? Overall no
matter how many times I do a rehearsal or practice I always get stage fright. Stage
fright is my weakest area I have done rehearsals and private or with one or two people
but when it comes to the bigger picture I always freeze. I need to learn to speak with
confidence and try to get the audience involved instead of rushing the presentation or
speaking very softly so no one hears me I need to be able to let the audience know that I
am confident and the information that I am sharing is worth their time to listen and learn
Atherosclerosis Case Study
Two experimental systems will be used to determine if Mad1 overexpression promotes
atherosclerosis. Both sets of experiments are routinely performed in the laboratory of
Dr. Lian Wang Guo and will be performed in collaboration with him. First, a
mechanical injury model will be used to determine if elevated levels of Mad1 promote
intimal hyperplasia. To generate the mechanical injury, mice will be anesthetized and
undergo bilateral endoluminal injury to the femoral artery by passing a 0.25 mm
diameter angioplasty guidewire 3 times 56. 1 and 3 days post injury, protein
expression will be determined by immunoblot. HA and Mad1 antibodies will be used to
measure expression and localization of endogenous and inducible Mad1. PCNA will be
used as a marker of VSMC proliferation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
p53 levels will be examined to check if upregulated Mad1 downregulates p53 levels in
vivo. Arteries will be harvested 2 and 4 weeks after injury to assess intimal hyperplasia
and expression levels of endogenous and inducible Mad1. Mice will be sacrificed and
perfused in situ with PBS followed by freshly prepared paraformaldehyde. After
decalicification, cross sections throughout the injured segment will be imaged with a
confocal microscope using the 488 nm laser to visualize internal and external elastic
lamina autofluorescence. Intimal, medial and luminal areas will be quantified at sections
which show the external and internal elastic lamina. Previous studies have shown that
measurements from 3 5 different injured regions from 15 animals will be sufficient for

The Pay Gap Between Women And Men
Keith Holmes Capstone Ms. Eason/Ms. Allen February 21, 2016 The Pay Gap
between Women and Men Imagine you are a women who works hard and does the
same job as some of the men, now imagine you all are explaining your paycheck and
you see you that your check is less than theirs. Although women work the same jobs as
men they are not being treated like it. We live in an age where women are not
financially equal to the men work the same jobs. Because of this there are struggling
single mothers, and the mistreatment of hard working women. Over the years as the
amount of women working in businesses rises so does the level of inequality. As
women, they do not want to be counted shorter than a man who does the same work, to
be sure they get the equal pay they deserve we need to pass laws that grant companies
to pay genders equally, strengthen the protections guaranteed by the equal pay act of
1963, and pass paid sick days legislation. First we need to identify why women are not
being paid equally. Some will say that the reason women are not being paid equally is
because they take sick days off because of pregnancy. The fact that companies do not
consider pregnancy a disability is the reason during that time it is considered an unpaid
sick day. Studies show that 39% of mothers say they stayed home or taken mothers say
they have taken a lot of time from work and 42 5 of mothers reduced their hours. A
quarter of women say that quit their jobs in all for family responsibilities.
Aruba Research Paper
When traveling around the world I encounter many different cultures. The impactful
encounter I have had yet is Aruba. This island has a level of courtesy that is not easy
to find in the states. Therefore, the experience is more uplifting allowing me to enjoy
the different foods and high end retail. Aruba is a place that has a major contrast to the
United States of America and its citizens. In the United States courtesy is not a
mindset . However, in Aruba there is a level of courtesy due to citizens mindsets. As I
toured Aruba I began to notice that there were no crosswalks or stoplights, and drivers
were stopping in the middle of the street to allow pedestrians to cross. In contrast, when
in America drivers have a tendency to speed in order to get through a stoplight.
Consequently, pedestrians do not receive the right of way and their safety is put at risk.
In the southern areas of the U.S. Americans tend to speak to each other and Arubans do
not speak, but they honk their horns to say hello. Secondly, the way of eatingis different.
When preparing a meal in Aruba all foodis purchased in a fresh form. Therefore, when
eating in America it is typical to go out to eat on a daily... Show more content on

In the U.S. taxes are applied to anything that is purchased that is not fresh produce.
However, in Aruba everything that is purchased is duty and tax free. This leads to a
lesser influx of prices, but the standards of fashion are different in these two different
places. In the United States of America people tend to have a taste for luxury brands
(Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc.), but in Aruba the citizens tend to enjoy things to be simple.
This leads to luxury brands being cheaper in Aruba, because the salesmen do not realize
the worth. While Arubans do not realize the worth of luxury brands the products are not
protected with security, but in America every product in the luxury stores are censored

Social Class Influence on the Individual
Social Class Influence on the Individual
Poor as a church mouse vs. born with a silver spoon in your mouth are contrasting
themes in this book of hardships and life trials. In Great Expectations by Charles
Dickens, the main character Pip interacts with characters of various social groups. These
groups directly or indirectly, help Pip understand his own opportunities and purpose in
life. From these interactions, it becomes clear that social class influences how people
interact and view one another as well as their opportunities in life.
Some people do not have the same opportunity as others of getting education. This
contrast is shown in the life circumstances of two characters of different social classes.

Not only in Pip s day, but for centuries, people have treated one another according to
their wealth. Early in the history of the United States voting rights were limited by
gender, race, and wealth. Only white males with property had voting rights. It was said
that, ...The American class system has persisted since the nation s birth. The notion of
social equality was so restricted in the late eighteenth century that neither the term nor
even the concept of equality appeared in the Constitution or Bill of Rights. (Martin Jr.
and Sullivan). Social class discrimination was a big part of this time period in Great
Britain as well. Pip felt this discrimination before he had money and after he lost his
money.
Today, as in Pips time period, people are categorized into social classes using various
criteria. Wealth is just one of the characteristics that influence someone s placement in
a social class. Social class is defined as, ...a group of people who share a common status
or position in society. Social classes represent differences in wealth, power,
employment, family background, and other qualities. (Cohen). In the past, wealth was
most likely to be the biggest factor for placement in social class. Today other criteria as
well would impact social class placement. For Pip, his change of income landed him in
various social classes.
It is difficult but not impossible to move up in social class. Both Pip and his friend
Herbert moved up in social class with the help of
The Empirical Solar Radiation Prediction Models Essay
Literature Review 2.1 Empirical Solar Radiation Prediction Models Solar radiation
estimation models were developed using meteorological parameters and site
geographical locations. These meteorological factors have a major influence on the
outcome of solar radiation intensity that reaches the earth s surface [11 14]. In
addition, most models were developed with well maintained recorded data provided
by weather stations. For these reasons, earlier studies correlating solar radiation to
meteorological parameters were conducted by Angstrom in 1924. In his research, a
simple numerical technique correlating solar radiation to sunshine hours was
developed. Equation (1) represents the modified form of Angstrom model by Prescott
as [15]; H_i/H_o =a+bS(1) where by H_o is the global solar radiation on a clear day, H
represents final solar radiation outcome, a and b are regression coefficients and S equals
number of sunshine hours in a day. Since then, numerous models and numerical
techniques have been developed using meteorological parameters together with the sites
geographical locations in developing solar radiation models. Most of these models fall
into three categories [16]; Stochastic Algorithm Satellite Derived Empirical Technique
Correspondingly, several methods were used to estimate solar radiation intensity [17].
The development of models using empirical relationships has gain wider spectrum of
applicability because of its simplicity and convenient use of variables
