Coleague Academy is a professional training organization with G2A model that endeavours to train
the students thereby exercises on developing the next generation industry ready students.
Coleague Academy was started to meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more
employment especially in tier 2 and 3 towns, the rural parts of the country. The organization was
formed with experienced professionals from the Industry
With training of faculty and students as the primary objective, Coleague Academy has been
working through a seven pillar program in the areas of Faculty Development, Student Skill
Development, Entrepreneurship Development, Youth Empowerment, Industry-Institute
Interaction, Digital Empowerment.
In the last 1 years, Coleague Academy has strived on every aspect to provide a holistic service to
every stakeholder of the education ecosystem in developing the next generation of talent pool in
India to make them industry ready employees, innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders.
Through its various initiatives, Coleague Academy has been part of strengthening the India’s four
important visions on Skill India, Digital India, Startup India and Make in India.
With the present education and skill levels of those already in the labour force being very low, it
would be a major challenge for India to reap its demographic advantage.
This challenge becomes enormous as the recent studies indicate that employers found just
about 25% of Indian graduates are ‘employable’ in the organized sector. The informal sector
which comprises 93% of the workforce has no skilling mechanism, as the skill development
takes place on the job Skill.
So, there is a need for quick reorganization of the skill development ecosystem and the
promotion of which is necessary to suit to the needs of the industry to ensure enhancement of
life of the population. India would surely rise to be the Human Resource Capital of the world by
appropriately skilling its youth bulge and convert its advantage into a dividend.
Skill development initiatives will help actualize the inert potential, for which development and
articulation of a national policy on skill development is already in progress.
As India moves progressively towards becoming a global knowledge economy, it must meet the
rising aspirations of its youth. This can be partially achieved through focus on advancement of
skills that are relevant to the emerging economic environment. The challenge pertains not only
to a huge quantitative expansion in skill training for the youth, but also to the much more
important task of raising their quality. With a goal to create opportunities, space and scope for
the development of the talents of the Indian youth and to enhance their technical expertise,
Coleague Academy focuses on Youth Skill Development as one of its pillars.
PEDAGOGY
With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition
among industries has become stiff. To solve their engineering problems they look up now to
engineering institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs in
multinational companies, by exposing them to newer technologies and engineering methodologies.
These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and the academic
institutions. Better interaction between technical institutions and industry is the need of the hour. This
will have great bearing on the engineering curriculum, exposure of engineering students to industrial
atmosphere and subsequent placement of young graduating engineers in industries across the
country.
Industries and institutes have been collaborating for over a century, but the rise of a global
knowledge economy has intensified the need for strategic partnerships. The Institutes are imparting
the basic knowledge and skill, but the Industry-Institute Interaction will enable to undertake research
by staff and students relevant to the industry.
The Industry-Institute Interaction should be designed to run longer period for preparing the
manpower of world class in the field of science and technology by inculcating the various skills
required by the industry, thereby contributing to the economic and social development at large.
With several layers of collaboration being built by the government to develop the Make in India
program, the manpower needs have to be fulfilled in order to witness the required development.
Though availability of manpower is abundant in India, well equipped manpower with employability
