    SYNOPSIS

    In developing our idea for our team project, our team decided to address an

    environmental issue. The specific issue we will address is the use of plastics as cutlery and the

    way plastics are produced along with all the waste that is contaminating our environment

    because of them. We will offer an alternative to plastics that will be Bamboo disposable cutlery

    and tableware. Our company will be based around reducing the use of plastics in the food

    industry, while reinvesting our profits into building a better environment. We will commit that

    our profits will be utilized to bring awareness to flooding and over development of the wetlands

    and the commitment to cleaning up local parks and public lands.

    Our organization we are developing has decided to be a company that offers alternatives

    to disposable plastic cutlery. Our Bamboo cutlery and tableware will be cheap, dependable, and

    customizable for food and beverage distributors to use instead of the traditional plastics. We are a

    smaller group but hope we can get buy-in from our users to help us support and grow as a

    company.

    The organization we are developing will be a smaller non-profit that supplies to

    manufacturers a product that is 100% biodegradable and is made from eco-friendly bamboo.

    Beautiful Bamboo gives 100% of its profits back to organizations that help recycle and clean up

    debris and litter throughout the nation and possibly onto global reaches.

    After long consideration and a close review, we feel that the name of our organization should be

    BEAUTIFUL BAMBOO. It is derived from the bamboo that is used to make the eco-friendly
    cutlery and tableware products that are the base of our organization as well as the beautiful

    things that are done to help improve the environment through the bamboo.

    Bamboo is a biodegradable and environmentally friendly material, so this should help

    companies make a stronger effort in reducing or eliminating cutlery and tableware plastic waste.

    With the donated profits, organizations would be able to reach out further in communities who

    are actively trying to conserve coastal wetlands to prevent catastrophic floods caused by over

    development. The profits will also help the companies we partner with, who clean the litter in

    parks and public lands throughout our communities, have more workforce and resources to do

    so. Our organization targets many different problems that help many environmental causes, and

    we like to think of it as a one-stop-shop for them. The changes we are proposing require a group

    effort from the manufacturer, consumers, as well as the end-user.

    The public campaign will consist of public relations. We believe this will be an effective

    way of campaigning for multiple reasons. As for one, our goal is to try and inform others about

    the problems and make it clear what we stand for. By informing the public and being involved,

    we can hope to increase the awareness of our organization. Through practices such as community

    outreach and social media advertisement, we believe we can increase the awareness of Beautiful

    Bamboo.
