DIPPING TECHNIQUE
Submerge the entire pottery piece or part of it into a container of glaze to achieve a smooth
and even coating. This is a quick and effective method for covering large surfaces.
SPONGING TECHNIQUE
Use a sponge into the glaze or paint and then apply it to the pottery surface. This technique
creates a textured and organic appearance.
SPRAYING TECHNIQUE
Use an airbrush or spray bottle to apply glazes evenly over the pottery. This technique can
create a smooth and gradient effect.

SGRAFFITO TECHNIQUE
Apply a layer of glaze to the pottery, and then, while it's still wet, use a tool to scratch or carve
away parts of the glaze to reveal the clay beneath. This creates intricate patterns and designs.
WAX RESIST TECHNIQUE
Apply wax to specific areas of the pottery before glazing. The wax acts as a resist, preventing
the glaze from adhering to those areas. After firing, the waxed areas will remain unglazed.
TAPEING TECHNIQUE
Apply painter's tape to create geometric shapes or lines on the pottery surface. Paint over the
exposed areas with glaze, and once dry, remove the tape to reveal crisp, clean lines.
MARBLING TECHNIQUE
Swirl different colored glazes together on the pottery surface to create a marbled effect. This
can be achieved by brushing, dipping, or sponging.

LAYERING TECHNIQUE
Apply multiple layers of glazes or underglazes to create depth and complexity. Experiment
with layering different colors to achieve unique effects. Before painting, make sure your
pottery piece is bisque-fired and free of any dust or contaminants. Also, consider
experimenting with different combinations of techniques to discover your unique style.
