    Providing Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme to Edayanchavadi, Sadayankuppam and

    Kadapakkam, Vadaperumpakkam and Theeyambakkam, Chinnasekkadu and Manali in


    Chennai City

    Preamble:

     Edayanchavadi, Sadayankuppam, Kadapakkam, Vadaperumpakkam,


    Theeyambakkam, Chinnasekkadu and Manali are among the 42 local bodies added in the
    expanded area of Chennai city which falls in New Corporation Divisions of 15, 16, 17, 18, 20
    & 21 in Area II (Manali Zone) Division 29 in Area III (Madhavaram Zone) to an extent of
    56.53 Sq.Kms with 767 streets for a total length of about 178.77 Kms.
     The scheme cost for providing comprehensive water supply scheme to
    Edayanchavadi, Sadayankuppam, Kadapakkam, Vadaperumpakkam, Theeyambakkam,
    Chinnasekkadu and Manali in Chennai city is Rs. 8054.00 Lakhs under CMCDM funding
    vide G.O.(Ms).No. 105, MA&WS (MC.I) Dept. Dated.11.07.2013
     Source of water – Existing Desalination plant at Minjur (North - Chennai)
    Scope:
    1. Laying of DI distribution mains of sizes ranging from 100mm to 600mm dia for a
    length of 182603m.
    2. Laying of conveying / pumping mains of sizes 200mm dia & 500mm dia DI pipes for a
    length of 8000m.
    3. Construction of OHT of 13 LL capacity with pump house at Dwaraka Nagar.
    4. Construction of OHT of 2 LL capacity & UGT of 1 LL capacity with pump house at
    Vadaperumpakkam.
    5. Construction of OHT of 3 LL capacity & UGT of 1 LL capacity with pump house at
    Theeyambakkam.
    6. Construction of OHT of 10 LL capacity & UGT of 2 LL capacity with pump house at
    Chinnasekkadu.
    7. Construction of OHT of 35 LL capacity & UGT of 5 LL capacity with pump house at
    Manali.
    8. Providing House Service Connections 10036 nos.
    Contract details:
    The work has been awarded to M/s. Abhiram Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru for the
    contract value of Rs. 6155.59 Lakhs on 04.03.2014 with contract period of 24 months. The
    work commenced on 26.05.2014 and in progress.

    Progress of Work (as on 07.03.2023)

     In Vadaperumpakkam, Theeyambakkam WSS put to public use.


     In Edayanchavadi, Sadayankuppam and Kadapakkam WSS, trial commissioning works
    are in progress.
     In Manali and Chinnasekkadu WSS works under progress.
     Physical progress – 86.33 %
     Financial progress – 87.70 %
     Probable date of completion – 31.03.2023.

    On commissioning of scheme, about 2.20 lakhs people will be benefitted
