OUTLINE:

GENERAL PURPOSE: TO PERSUADE

SPECIFIC PURPOSE: TO PERSUADE STUDENTS TO STOP VAPING INSIDE THE CAMPUS
GENERAL TOPIC: BANNING STUDENTS FROM E-CIGGARETTES AFFECT STUDENTS PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY.
I. INTRODUCTION
-GIVE IMPORTANT BACKGROUND ABOUT VAPING. MENTION THE NUMBER OF USERS AND THE PERCENTAGE OF THEM WHO HAVE
EXPERIENCE HARM AS A RESULT.
II. BODY
-DESCRIBE THE FEATURES AND PARTS OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES. WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES IN USING IT AT A VERY YOUNG AGE
AND FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS. DISCUSS SOME POTENTIAL REMEDIES FOR PREVENTING THEM FROM IMPACTING YOUNGER YEARS AND FOSTER
A HEALTHY ATMOSPHERE, ALSO HOW IT AFFECTS PEOPLE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY.
III. CONCLUSION
-COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT USING ISN’T HELPFUL AT ALL IT WILL JUST LEAD YOU DOWN A BAD PATH. CREATE MOTIVATIONAL
SAYING THAT WILL HELP TEENAGERS UNDERSTAND THAT VAPING IS NOT NECESSARY.

SCRIPT:
I'm here today to discuss vaping, a subject that has attracted a lot of attention in recent years.

Vaping is bad, and I don't think it ever will be, to start with. If we allow it to continue, it will continue to
produce a number of problems. The problem will only get worse if the government or the people do not
speak up and attempt to reform what is occurring. Now all that has to be done is take down the
advertisement and speak out against vaping permanently. Use of e-cigarettes has developed into a public
health risk that necessitates quick and coordinated response, especially among teenagers and young
people.

Vaping, or the use of electronic cigarettes, has gained widespread popularity among people of all ages.
Its allure stems from various reasons including perceived social acceptance, potential health benefits
compared to traditional smoking, and its appealing flavors. However, it is important to approach this trend
with caution and understanding. According to the CDC, Among adults aged 18 and over, 4.5% were
current e-cigarette users, and use was higher among men (5.1%) compared with women (4.0%).

Even if the number of Americans who smoke cigarettes made of combustible tobacco is declining,
millions of people still use electronic cigarettes (often known as "e-cigarettes"). In 2016, e-cigarette use
among kids was significantly higher than use of any other tobacco product or cigarette smoking. National
surveys provide a consistent picture. In children and young people, the prevalence of use rises with age.
Gender differences in e-cigarette use also exist, with boys often using them more frequently than girls.
When compared to children who identify as black, Asian, or other races, Hispanic and non-Hispanic white
youth use e-cigarettes at higher rates than those who identify as other races. Early findings indicate that
despite rises between 2011 and 2015 across a variety of indicators and surveys, use in youth stabilized or
dropped between 2015 and 2016. Youth use of electronic cigarettes without nicotine is substantial. When
compared to adult combustible tobacco cigarette smoking and child e-cigarette use, adult e-cigarette use
is comparatively rare. The majority of adult users of e-cigarettes confess to still using other tobacco
products. The use habits of adults differ from those of youth depending on their age, gender, and race
and ethnicity. In general, e-cigarette use is highest in young adults and declines with age in adults. Few
adults who do not currently smoke combustible tobacco cigarettes start using e-cigarettes.

Current e-cigarette use was highest among adults aged 18–24 (11.0%). The observed difference
between men (11.6%) and women (10.3%) was not statistically as of June 2023. Many experts and
young people agree that physical activity is a reliable way to satisfy a need. Give cravings a minute or
two, and they'll go away. It will go more quickly if you use a distraction to deliberately divert your attention
from the urge. The key is to ask close friends and family for help.
When asked what their main methods were, other users frequently mentioned meditation. When people
are under stress, they frequently vape, which creates a loop of desires. Other go-to methods for
respondents included journaling, going outside, and discussing stress with others.

According to experts, appreciating and acknowledging successes when trying to quit might increase your
tolerance to stress and cravings. These are the factors that may affect every user in using vape. The first
is on mental health. Vaping has been associated with an increased risk of mental health issues. Nicotine,
a highly addictive substance commonly found in e-cigarettes, can lead to mood disorders, anxiety, and
depression, particularly in young people whose brains are still developing. Next is addiction. Nicotine
found in e-cigarettes is highly addictive, leading to dependency. Students who vape are at risk of
developing a lifelong addiction, which can negatively impact their overall well-being, academic
performance, and future success. Another one is impaired Cognitive Function. Nicotine affects brain
development, particularly in adolescents. Regular vaping can impair cognitive functions such as attention,
memory, and learning abilities, ultimately affecting academic performance. The last is on physical health.
Vaping is not without physical consequences. It has been linked to several health issues such as
respiratory problems, lung damage, heart problems, and a lot more.

We are running out of time. Our government should implement precautionary measures to prevent and
manage the risks that e-cigarettes pose to children and young adults. As a result, we must exercise
caution by putting these strategies into practice and protecting the youth's health in our country. Since we
are aware of the strategies that are most effective in deterring young people from smoking tobacco, we
should increase knowledge of them and urge people to live peaceful lives. All young children that require
a lot of attention and understanding should look up to me, you, and us as better examples. We might stop
our nation's kids from establishing a dependency on nicotine and its problems by treating e-cigarettes as
a serious public health issue. The moment is here to take action.
