system to fill the Restofix product gap & positioning ourselves as strong supplier in this business
segment
Dear Colleague,
This market flash is the official launch of epoxy based: 2 component adhesive, 3 component thixotropic mortar
for vertical and overhead application, modified epoxy bonding agent and low viscous, high strength and high
pot life injection grout. Based on the market need and fulfilling the requirement on price front and
performance. The launching of epoxy based required product will shorten the product gap and fulfill the
market requirement and STP’S representation in the segment.
Background behind launching these products

It has been observed that there is no multipurpose epoxy adhesive in our range. Epoxy adhesive is having
multipurpose usage for quick repair of various substrates. The existing epoxy repair mortar is only for bedding
purpose & not suitable for vertical surface against gravity due to slippage and down ward movement. The
existing bonding agent is found to be not economical, needs modification to change its consistency and make
cost effective with improved performance. There is an increasing trend of requiring high strength epoxy
injection grout for high strength structures with increased pot life for sending mixed material to grouting
application point at job site.
Epoxy Adhesive
ShaliBond ®41 is the two component, solvent free, high strength pasty, structural grade epoxy adhesive for
multipurpose repair & crack sealing, ShaliBond® 41 meets the requirements of ASTM C 881, Type I, Grade 3
Class B & C. It is a bonding material for the various substrate viz concrete, natural stone, mortar, bricks, block
masonry, steel, Iron etc. ShaliBond® 41 has got distinct advantage of using in dry and damp surfaces, very
good adhesion with most of the construction materials, high initial and ultimate strength properties without
shrinkage. ShaliBond® 41 can be used as primer for subsequent epoxy repair mortar.

ShaliFix ® EM 51 is three component, solvent free, structural grade, thixotropic, epoxy mortar the repair of
RCC structures. ShaliFix® EM 51 can be used as multipurpose repair and adhesive mortar including bedding
application, adhesive and non-sag concrete repair mortar for the vertical & overhead surface. ShaliFix® EM 51
mortar may be applied at a thickness of maximum 30 mm per layer. It conforms to ASTM C 395 - 01 (2012).
Epoxy bonding agent

New epoxy bonding agent is the fillerised and modified version of the existing ShaliBond® Concrete for
joining old to new concrete. ShaliBond ®Concrete is a 100% reactive, solvent free bonding agent for old
concrete with new concrete as well as two concrete pre-cast blocks. It is supplied as a two-component
material in pre-weighed quantities ready for on-site mixing and use. ShaliBond® Concrete can be used as
moisture insensitive primer also for concrete surface. The pot life is increased to 3 hours for better open time
in case of a large repair and jacketing. It conforms to ASTM C 881: Type II, Grade 2, Class B & C.
Epoxy Injection resin

Shali Grout® EI LP is a low viscous material for injecting into the cracks for surface consolidation and sealing of
cracks for structural enhancement. Low viscosity of the material helps to inject into fine cracks 0.25 mm. Shali
Grout® EI LP is high strength, compressive strength of M70 plus, having pot life of an hour to continue grouting
job for a longer time, will help faster completion of job in a complicated job site.
Characteristics
ShaliBond ®41 positioned against available strong brand from Sika, the brand name is Sikadur 31 is the
equivalent material having very good market share. Nitocote VF, a three-component system is the similar kind
of system for the same purpose. This epoxy adhesive is an applicators product for its multipurpose usage.
The players for the brand representation are not too many in the market, so this will open the scope of
acquiring better market share.
ShaliFix ® EM51 is made against available good brands, Sikadur 41 of Sika and Nitomortar S of Fosroc for epoxy
reinstatement mortar segments. High strength mortars having good scope in infrastructure project repair for
high early, shrinkage free and ultimate strength with good finish.
ShaliBond®Concrete is made available Nitobond EP of Fosroc and Sikadur 32 LP of Fosroc for old to new and
old to old bonding of concrete to concrete. ShaliBond® Concrete has got good scope in new and
refurbishment projects including distribution demand for application in building segments for cold joint
applications.
Shali Grout® EI LP is introduced against competition from Sikadur 52 LP and Conbextra EP 10 LV for the
specific market for fulfilling strength and longer pot life required both simultaneously in order to serve critical
and large grouting work. The ShaliGrout® EI would continue to serve the regular grouting requirements

The scope of epoxy repair system is significant in the distressed high strength structures, which are in
increasing trend. The scope of application is wide in Bridges, Refineries, thermal power projects, steel
industries, ports & jetties, heavy engineering industries, commercial complexes, residential colonies, chemical
