Lie / Telling lies / Liar

What things do people usually lie about?

Well, I am no expert but I would say people tend to tell lies regarding their
personal life, including their age, work, salary, weight, where they were, how
somebody looks and perhaps how they like the gift that they received.

Why do you think people lie?

It maybe strange but the lie that they tell matters to them. They have this
feeling that it is critically important to lie about different things!
They lie since they are trying to control a situation, and to them telling the
truth feels like giving up control.
They just don’t want to disappoint others. They may be afraid of losing
the respect of those around them. I mean, they’re worried that the truth
might lead you to reject or shame them.
Finally, I can talk about “Lies snowball”. It is about how lies grow. We tell
a little bitty lie, but then to cover that lie, we have to tell another one, then
another, and another — each gets bigger and bigger.

How can you tell if somebody is lying?

What an interesting question! My initial point could be that liars tend to avert
their gaze, nervously wave their hands around and shift about in their seats.

A second feature which I should mention is that liars prefer to say less and
provide fewer details than truth-tellers. And they also try psychologically to
keep a distance from their falsehoods, and so tend to include fewer references
to themselves in their stories.

Family & Relatives
Do you get along well with your siblings?
Oh that’s for sure. Although in terms of personality we are kind of different,
we get along well. We are mentally alike. I mean, I usually share my secrets
with them. We are so like-minded. We have a lot of things in common. We
spend most of our time together. We share the same interests and have lots of
fun together. When a problem comes up, we try to be reasonable and settle our
differences by talking with each other.

What do you have in common with your siblings?

We are very similar in character; we are both outgoing. In terms of
personality also we are very similar, and share the same interests; enjoying the
same sports and music could be a case in point.
We are so unlike that no one would think we are brothers/sisters. I mean, we
are worlds apart; like chalk and cheese. In terms of personality I can say that
I’m outgoing whereas he/she tends to be more reserved. On top of this, I have
dark skin while she has fair skin, and also slightly taller than me. Finally, I tend
to be more serious and organized whilst my sister is easy-going and carefree
type of person.

In what ways do you take after your parents?

I look more like my father. Mainly in my eyes and facial features. Of course,
my hair is darker and curlier, but in character, I take after my mother more, I
suppose. I’m more compatible with my mother. We are mentally very close.
In terms of appearance, I look more like my mother, but in character, I’m
more similar to my father. Despite the fact that we are from different
generations, and age gap exist between us, I get on with him pretty well.

When did you last visit your relatives?
To my best recollection, it goes back to X days/months ago when I had
been invited to a big family reunion at which the whole family got together.
We tried to catch up and find out what was going on with one another. That
really helped us bond. We also swapped some juicy gossips about other family
members and acquaintances.
Honestly speaking, it was long ago. You know, we don’t see each other very
often, actually, once in a blue moon since there aren’t close bonds among us.
On top of this, unfortunately, I am snowed under, so I can’t spend much
quality time with them very often.

Friends
Are friends important for you?
I don’t know what I would do without them. They are always there for me,
and whenever I have bitterness and disappointment in my life, they lift my
spirits. I have to admit that having a large circle of friend appeals to me.
Frankly speaking, I don’t really give a hoot about my friends. Friends
always hurt you or let you down. All they do is stab you in the back. Instead
of having a large group of friends, I prefer to have an intimate friend to
confide in. You know someone whom I can totally trust and tell my secrets. I
find it difficult to share my secrets and feelings with a group.

Do you have any friends from your childhood?

My best buddy is a boy/girl named..., who is X years of age. Frankly, it’s such
a blessing to have him/her as my best friend. We go back a long way. He/she
was a neighbor/classmate of mine who I made friend with, and I’m really
delight I did.

How often do you go out with your friends? Where do you hang out?
 Usually on the weekends. I struggle with a rat race during the week.
Weekends, on the other hand, are perfect for spending some quality time
with my buddies. And as we all love outdoor activities, we often go to this
picnic site, where we can do various things, such as fishing, camping, biking,
and everything.
 Whenever I get the time. We are inseparable. Honestly, I can’t get enough
of them. The more I can be with them, the better. Apart from the outdoor
activities, we usually rent movies, laze in front of the TV, and chat.

What makes someone a special friend? Why?
 A good friend must be loyal, caring, and above all reliable; someone you
can turn to and count on.
 As the old saying goes, a friend in need, is a friend indeed. Someone who
is always there for you.
 Honesty is the bedrock of every healthy relationship, and particularly
friendship. A true friend is someone you can always rely on.
 True friends should possess a number of positive qualities. However, I am
quite convinced that the most essential is complete and unwavering loyalty
as we often confide in them. In addition, another critical feature of a
bosom friend is supportiveness. What I believe is that relationships do not
break down unless friends are critical of one another.

Describe your friend
Although I have made many exemplary friends, I would like to speak
about X who is by far one of the greatest buddies that I have ever had in my
whole life. In fact, never in my life had I had such a bosom friend. From where I
sit, he is undoubtedly the best friend based upon every definition that I can
grasp about the best buddy.
We go back a long time, and we have been friends for X years. After the
time that our friendship began, I have enjoyed his company from every
perspective. He has always stayed by my side through thick and thin. He has my
back, and he is not a fair-weather friend who leaves you alone when you are in
trouble. Not only is he a very good listener, but also he is one of the most
talented people. Also, he never hesitates to tell me the truth or to stop me when
I’m wrong. Sometimes, I don’t know what I would do without him.
Let me tell you a bit about his appearance. He is absolutely attractive. He
is tall and has an amazing voice with which he can get anyone’s attention. He
has sleek, jet-black hair, pale blue eyes, and a radiant complexion. He also has a
round face with a somehow upturned nose, and he actually bears a striking
resemblance to a famous singer.
Our friendship started and remained so tight mostly because of our
common interests. We are both into outdoor activities, and these days we are
taking a computer course together. Apart from that, we often discuss the books
we read or criticize the movies we watch. He is the one who I share things with
(I spill guts to). I mean, things that I cannot share with anyone else and I get
advice without being judged. This is the best part of our friendship. I
recommend everyone form a trustable friendship and enjoy it.
He celebrates my success genuinely. We know each other in and out, and
we can talk about almost everything no matter how nonsense it is. Both of us
are committed to this friendship and value it.

Describe your Family
 A family is the most important place for any individual, and it is considered
as the root of people. Without a family, one cannot have a decent and happy
life. There are 4 of us in my family. My mother, father and my little sister.

 Beginning with my mother, she is like any other mom. Loving, caring, and
concerned, yet when she is angry, you will definitely know. She's artistic and
seeks to do things that revolve around art. She loves to cook and is extremely
innovative even in that aspect. She is the anchor of our house and is
definitely the driving force for our family!

 My father is the cornerstone of our family. He is rigid yet flexible. He is

responsible for all the discipline in our house. Possessing the love for
gardening, he invests a lot of his time in innovative gardening techniques.
He loves all of us and holds himself responsible for our family's well-being.
My inspiration, my dad.

 The mischievous, little one in our family is my little sister. Being the
youngest, luck is always on her side. She is blessed with a smile of an angel.
She has got the artistic touch of mom, and Art and Crafts hold her attention
for the longest time throughout the day. Filling our house with a frequent set
of frowns and smiles, she is indeed the little demon of our house.
