Having lost much of its bite transitioning to the big

screen, Twilight will please its devoted fans, but do little

High-school student Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), always

a bit of a misfit, doesn't expect life to change much when
she moves from sunny Arizona to rainy Washington state.
Then she meets Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a

Ten years after its release, Twilight stands as a

powerful, darkly stylish depiction of teen female
desire.

My hope is that the sequels are actual attempts at

movies. The world doesn't need any more
toothless cinema.

A deeply sincere, outright goofy vampire romance

for the hot-not-to-trot abstinence set.

I've had mosquito bites that were more passionate

than this undead, unrequited, and altogether
unfun pseudo-romantic riff on Romeo and Juliet.

I watched Twilight in a cinema full of young girls

who, when they weren't texting friends and
guzzling soft drinks, giggled, sighed and exhaled
with a passion that was not only endearing, but a
measure of its emotional truth.

A sometimes girlie swirl of obsession that will

delight fans, this faithful adaptation is after
teenage blood, and will most likely hit a box office
artery.

Though director Catherine Hardwicke’s movie

shouldn’t be labeled unsuccessful, it’s certainly
uneven.

Deep Focus Review

The sequels became increasingly silly and

overwrought but the original Twilight (2008) is
actually kind of interesting even if you are not a
devotee of the fan fic-turned-bestseller series.

The first film grounds everything, and does a fine

job of world-building; even the climactic fight
scene is fully integrated into the emotional core[.]

The fact that it's not completely appalling is

With all the hype (and hate) around this film, it's
difficult to view objectively, however I can see both
why it's popular and why it's so hated. The
performances are iffy, with some really awful and…
awkward to watch scenes, but at the same time

there's teenage love and friendship that tries to
hold it all together. The peril is very real which is a
boost, but overall I'd say give it a miss unless

Yes. I am a man and I liked Twilight. Is it a

masterpiece? Is this film original? No. Will I
recommend this film to anyone? No. But is it a
good pop corn film? Something you can leave you…
brain at home and have a good time watching?

Yes. I don't feel this film deserves the following it
has, nor do I feel it deserves any sequels. But it is
worth seeing once. Just be sure to have a few

Not as bad as I thought still pretty boring but some

good bits, Not a must see, Don't know how the
series has made so much money but they won't
care.

One of the worst films of all time, can compete with

Transformers. And that's bad.
